Slip of the Tongue

"I TOLD YOU GUYS IT WAS A MISTAKE, I WOULDN'T WILLINGLY DO THAT, SO CAN WE JUST DROP IT!"

Mina's voice rang throughout the classroom.

The words burrowed deep into his heart like a drill. He swore that everyone in class could hear it actually break. This was the lowest he ever felt.

Rai was fast on his feet when he made a b-line straight towards the a person who was commenting on the pictures they took of the girls they were describing. The guy had no time to react, the moment he saw Rai it was too late. Rai quickly got a hold of him and pulled him down to the ground and put him in a submission hold he had learned from watching wrestling. 

"Thought you could get away with your bullshit forever, did you? Well too bad, your little stunt stops here." he said to the culprit. The sneaky slime ball tried really hard to get out of hold but it was a wasted effort. "Let me go, I can't get caught, not like this!" the guy said. He even tried biting Rai trying to get loose, which angered him and caused him to shock the douche. "Try that again and I'll increase the voltage." Rai growled.

A few minutes later a teacher, Mr. Aizawa of all people, had came into the mix. He was looking for Rai as it had been a while since he left for his restroom break and Midnight was finished with her lecture. In the end, justice was served and the student who was behind it got suspended for a week. Turns out that the peeper had a two quirks which allowed him to not only turn invisible on command, but make anything he touched invisible as well. No wonder the teachers had a hard time trying to find him. 

Rai was congratulated for being the one to solve the problem and due to that, it made him somewhat of the school's hero. Many of the students thanked him and some of the girls had expressed their gratitude, which made him blush to no end of course. 

'Finally, this is all over, and things will go back to normal.' he thought.

The next day, the class was just now finishing their practice session. The exercise today was a simple one, steal the opponent's color tag. The pairings were random, from Asui vs Kamanari, to Midoriya vs Ojirou. While some were fair others weren't, like Bakugou vs Mineta. Even Rai was fearful for the little grape guy and to no one's surprise, Bakugou won. That session, wasn't fair at all, and everyone knew it. Rai had to face off against Mina, and at first he wasn't too keen on the idea since it was a no holds bard session. And he didn't want to go all out on her. But Mina had threaten Rai with a months load of embarrassing teasing if he held back. He had no choice but to pick the lesser of two evils. 

While at first it started off as a simple cat and mouse game, Rai being the mouse, as he mostly was whenever they were together. It ended with an event that would stick with one of them forever. In the middle of the match Mina was going on the offensive, trying her best to grab Rai's tag that was latched to his sides. Rai had a little fun with her, as revenge for threatening him, but it was all in good fun. Rai jumped off one of the damaged small building (thanks to Bakugou's fight with Mineta) onto the street below. Looking up he could see Mina puffing up her cheeks and stomping the ground. She sure was cute whenever threw a little fit.

"Heh heh, consider this pay back for threatening me with a month of embarrassment sweet heart." Rai said with a smug face, confident in he quick thinking. "Just you wait Nagi, your tag is as good as-". Before she could get the rest of her sentence out, she started to fall off the building due to her stepping on soft spot that was very close to breaking. With her stomping on it she only made the spot weaker. She was falling, about to land face first on the ground. But thankfully Rai was quick enough to catch her, although he didn't catch how he wanted to. What ended up happening was due to his late thinking and pure  chance. He was about to shift his power to his legs so he could jump to catch her.
