"Its something All Might told me once. Meddling when you don't need to, is the essence of being a hero!" Izuku shouted. This sentence made the Hero Killer smile, as if Izuku's response to Iida lit a spark in him. Izuku then rushed at the criminal using Full Cowling, doing his best to watch the Stain's sword and close the distance between the two. Rai stood back as he watched, making sure that Izuku didn't get into to too much trouble. Within a spit second, Izuku landed a hit on the murder. A good clean hit to Stain's face, but it wasn't enough. As soon a the Hero Killer licked one of his knives, Izuku stopped moving. Looking around to see what happened, Izuku spotted a small cut on his arm.
'What, one graze was all it took?' Izuku thought.
"That was a good try, but all you did was move from my field of vision." Stain said.
'Dammit. This is gonna be even more a hassle now.' Rai thought. He was confident that both he and Izuku would be enough to get both Iida and the pro hero Native out of the way while fighting the hero killer. But now with Izuku down he had to act alone, and fast. Activating Surge Mode, everything around him started to slow down. He then charged at the hero killer, gathering electricity in both hands. His plan was to use the twenty seconds he had to inflict as much damage as he could on Stain so they could at least have a chance to incapacitate him. That way they could signal the pros to their location. Moving fast he hit Stain with quick electrical strikes to his chest, arms, and legs.
There were nine seconds left before the world started moving normally, so Rai had to hit Stain with a big attack to tip the balance in their favor. He channeled a massive amount of lightning in both of his palms and hit the criminal with all of his strength. Hitting him with a voltage level that seemed to be just enough to put down the murderer.
"Hopefully this pays off." Rai said as time began to speed up.
"Looks like time has begun to move again."
Just then time moved normally and with that, the hits Rai dealt took effect. Sparks began to shoot out of Stain's body as each impact that Rai made to his body was making him move in all kinds of directions. This seem to work as Stain fell to his knees. Everyone was stunned, Stain especially. Rai then readied into his fighting stance and waited for Stain to make a move. Stain readied himself with his sword in hand.
"That was a good trick there kid. I've never had to the pleasure of fighting someone with lightning. But this won't do much. If your speed is anything like the kid in green's, you won't fair any better boy." Stain said.
The Hero Killer then rushed at Rai, swinging his sword in the same fashion he did against Izuku. Rai jumped out the way of the swing and starting to dash around the alleyway, jumping from wall to wall, trying to not only keep his distance, but also find a weakness. Stain had some difficulty keeping up with him, but each time Rai tried to get a hit in, it was dodged just barely. How long could he keep this up? How long before the signal was heard and pros came their way? All these questions ran threw his head while trying to keep up his momentum in the fight.
But then he made a mistake and The Hero Killer saw the fumble. Rai had try to do a dive kick and missed, which caused him to lose his footing and ended up falling into a pile of trash. That was the opening Stain needed and without hesitation, he went right after Iida. This was bad and Rai couldn't react in time.
"Iida!!"
"Get away!!!"
Before Iida could be killed, a torrent of flame went straight towards Stain. Stain jumped out of the way with just a second to spare. Everyone was looking in the direction that the fire came from. At first Izuku had thought it was Endeavor, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. But then a voice called out to him.
