Chapter 5

When I woke up I saw an unfamiliar ceiling. I shot up and looked around. I relaxed when I saw Midoriya in the bed next to mine and All Might sitting on the edge of a third bed. Recovery Girl was also in the room.

I'm in the nurse's office then. What the hell happened to me?

"(Y/n)", Midoriya said with a smile. "You're awake."

"Yeah", I hoarsely answered before clearing my throat. "I... What happened? Did I pass out?"

Recovery Girl got up from her chair and walked up to the side of my bed.

"You had hypothermia, dear", she said. "Do you know how that happened?"

Todoroki...

"No", I mumbled. "Maybe one of the villains I fought had a cold quirk or something. I'm not sure. I didn't notice anything until after the villains disappeared."

Recovery Girl nodded before walking back to her chair.

I didn't want Todoroki to get in trouble for freezing me. I could not think of a story that wouldn't make what happened sound really bad for him.

"All Might", I then mumbled as I looked down.

"Yes, (l/n)?", the hero asked as he got up.

"I never liked you", I stated.

Midoriya gasped like I was crazy, but I got no reaction from All Might. I wasn't looking at him, so I wasn't sure.

"I will keep your secret, and I have always respected you", I continued. "My respect for you grew when I saw you fight Nomu. But I never liked you, and I still don't. I just wanted you to know that."

It might've sounded harsh, but I needed him to know. I didn't want All Might to think I would suddenly act like he was my dad. I wasn't like Midoriya. I didn't trust or attach myself to people so easily.

"(Y/n)", All Might said.

I looked up when he used my first name.

"I know you blame me for Toyoda's death."

"Y-you know about that?", I stammered.

"Of course", All Might answered. "I was already on my way, the night your brother was killed. You have every right to blame me for his death. He was killed to taunt me, and it worked. I wrote an apology to your parents, and I was also planning on visiting. They wrote me back before I had the chance to, saying they didn't blame me and that I couldn't help it. I understand your feelings towards me, (l/n)-shoujo."

I was at a loss for words. Not only did he know about Toyoda's death, but he also apologized. And I didn't even know about it.

"I don't blame you", I eventually said. "I never really did because I know very well that it wasn't your fault. But I... I have always associated you with Toyoda's death. I can't suddenly like you, All Might."

"I understand", the hero said with a nod. "If you ever want to talk or want to know something, you can contact me."

"Thank you", I mumbled.

All Might nodded at Midoriya and Recovery Girl before leaving the nurse's office. I let out a sigh.

"(Y/n)-chan...", Midoriya mumbled. "I'm sorry about your brother. I didn't know."

"It's fine, Izuku", I reassured him. "You could never have known. It was years ago. What's important now is your wellbeing. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine", Midoriya answered with a sweet smile. "My legs are pretty much healed up."
