Chapter 10

I sat on the edge of my seat when Todoroki and Midoriya were announced to battle. I cared about both of them a lot, but I knew they were both very powerful and one of them was bound to get hurt at least a little.

The match started, and I could almost see Midoriya's train of thoughts strategizing about how to defeat Todoroki. But the half and half boy didn't waste any time and shot pillars of ice towards him. I flinched when Midoriya ruined one of his fingers to deflect the attack.

It worked, but his finger was probably broken again. Midoriya did the same thing to attack Todoroki. A small wall of ice appeared behind the composed boy to keep him from being blown away. They kept going at each other and I could barely watch. Eventually I covered my eyes with my hands and peeked whenever I heard something happen.

I tensed when I saw Midoriya with one foot stuck in Todoroki's ice. Todoroki started to advance, but with another attack Midoriya blew him away and freed himself.

Another ruined finger.

Todoroki attacked again, but Midoriya deflected by breaking another finger. Then the broccoli haired boy proceeded to yell something. I couldn't hear what he was saying, but I could guess by the look on Todoroki's face.

He's talking about his fire. That's the only thing I know of that makes Shoto show emotion on his face like this.

Todoroki started to charge at Midoriya, but his movements faltered. I immediately realized something was wrong. Todoroki always moved so gracefully. When I looked closer I noticed something and tensed again. Midoriya continued talking to the half and half boy, who seemed to be getting a bit angry.

I couldn't contain a squeal when Midoriya punched Todoroki in the gut, sending him flying backwards.

"Geez, (l/n)", Kirishima commented. "Intense for you, isn't it?"

"I don't want either of them to get hurt", I answered as I kept following the battle.

"She's like a ruthless fighting machine in the arena, but when one of her boyfriends is fighting she immediately turns soft and mushy."

"Kaminari...", I threateningly said. "If you want to stay alive I suggest you shut up right now."

The Pikachu boy immediately fell silent and I continued watching the battle. Midoriya hit Todoroki again and said something to him. Then Todoroki actually... yelled?

Damn it, Izuku. What the hell are you saying to him?

I gasped when I realized what was wrong with Todoroki. The reason he was moving so stiffly. It was visible now. Frostbite.

He's overexerting his right side.

I dug my nails into my palms as I watched the battle continue. It looked like Midoriya was winning, but his right arm was seriously injured either way.

I saw Endeavor approaching the arena and yelling something at Todoroki. I felt my nails pierce my skin as I got mad. That damn man. A hero he called himself, but he abused his son so he could surpass his rival.

Todoroki and Midoriya went at each other again, drawing my attention away from Endeavor. Neither of them got a solid hit in, and they both moved back. I completely tensed up again and felt blood dripping down my hands as I watched them power up their attacks. Then Midnight and Cementos said something to each other and multiple walls were created in between two of my closest friends.

It was no use. Todoroki finally used his fire and I could see Midoriya going all out with One for All. The walls cracked and a massive shockwave went through the entire stadium. In involuntarily jumped up and waited for the smoke to clear.
