Endeavor watched as the young U.A. student was hauled into the ambulance on a stretcher. He noticed the white box she had dropped and picked it up again. When he opened it he saw a simple but pretty bracelet with a purple stone on it. Endeavor closed the box again and furrowed his brows.
(y/n)...? And a U.A. student, judging by her uniform. I don't know who she is, but... She seemed kind of familiar. Maybe Shoto knows her.
Less than a few hours ago his youngest son had obtained his provisional license. As if it was fate, he encountered a thug on his way back and beat him with a classmate who also did the remedial course. However, Endeavor thought that if Shoto did know this girl, this might be more important to him than media attention.
The no. 1 hero texted his son a few times to get his attention, but he was left on 'read'. He let out an irritated grunt and texted again.
'Do you know a girl named (y/n)?'
Endeavor raised his eyebrows when he immediately received a call from his youngest child. Of course he answered.
"What about her?", Todoroki immediately asked.
"There was a U.A. student at Golden Apple, the jewelry store", Endeavor answered. "She said her name was (y/n). Do you know her?"
"Yeah, we're friends", Todoroki answered. "Why are you asking me about her?"
"She had an encounter with a villain and was just taken to the hospital in critical condition", Endeavor said.
"What?!", Todoroki exclaimed. "You should have started with that!"
"I thought you might want to know", was all Endeavor said. "I'm going after her to question her when she wakes up."
"I'm coming too. Text me which hospital."
The call ended and Endeavor rolled his eyes. Of course he would finally get his son's attention over a girl.

I woke up with a pounding headache tormenting me. I heard the beeping of a heart monitor and my eyes shot open. I quickly looked around and saw that I was in a hospital room. But that wasn't what bothered me. I remembered dropping Todoroki's birthday present when I was lifted onto the stretcher and I was afraid I'd lost it.
I sighed in relief when I noticed the box standing on my nightstand, blood smudged on the sides. I remembered fighting the villain and pursed my lips.
I should have taken him out sooner. I hope nobody else got hurt.
I looked up when I heard voices in the hallway.
"I would like to question her when she wakes up."
Endeavor...?
"I'm afraid that won't be possible, sir", a female voice politely said. "She needs to rest to recover. Questioning her could hinder her recovery."
"That's why I want to question her after she wakes up, when she's had rest."
"Would you cut it out?! She's been through enough, she needs rest!"
My eyes widened at the third voice.
Shoto? What's he doing here? Did Endeavor call him?
"This is your fault!", Todoroki continued. "You should have been there sooner! What kind of hero are you?!"
I'd never heard Todoroki raise his voice like that. He was always so composed and cool. Sometimes he was irritated, yes, but now he sounded straight up mad like he was accusing his dad.
