Chapter 49

The match had begun. Shinso, Asui, Kirishima, Kaminari and I had to capture all four members of class B's team.

Asui activated her camouflage and climbed the walls.

"We're all familiar with other's skills to a certain extent, but let's stick together and try to overwhelm them with numbers", she suggested.

"Don't you think it would be better for me to split up from everyone and just fire some blasts all over the place?", Kaminari asked.

"And what will you do when you're 'split up'?", I asked. "You'll be all alone, you know."

"You've got a point", Kaminari answered. "Not to mention that Shiozaki is real trouble. She's got serious range."

I remembered fighting Shiozaki during the Sports Festival. It wasn't too difficult back then, but I could imagine that she'd gotten stronger. Not to mention that Kaminari's electricity wouldn't do much against the walls of vines she could put up.

"Ideally, we should start by neutralizing the most troublesome quirks", Shinso said.

"Hey, you know your stuff, Shinso!", Kaminari smiled.

"That's actually just common sense, Denki", I replied.

"Just like we're thinking 'we have to do something about Ibara', the other team's probably thinking 'we should do something about Kaminari'", Asui said.

"But if you teleport into the sky, won't you free-fall down?", Shinso asked.

"Yes, but I'm used to it", I answered. "I teleport to safety before I hit the ground. My momentum disappears anyway. It's no big deal."

"You shouldn't go alone. Take someone with you."

"I don't think anyone would volunteer for that", I said with a light chuckle. "Teleporting makes you throw up."

"She'll be fine", Kirishima said. "Just make sure to get back here as soon as you spot someone, (y/n)."

"I will", I answered. "I'll be back."

I teleported high into the sky, getting a nice overview of Field Gamma. I made sure to watch my altitude and spotted a patch of green among all the gray. I teleported a little closer to it and saw Ibara Shiozaki. Alone.

I quickly teleported back to my team, making sure not to get too close. I didn't want to scare anyone to death.

"I found Shiozaki", I said as I jogged up to them. "She's in that direction and on her own. She's heading this way while probing over a wide range with her vines."

"I really can't get behind the idea of ganging up on a girl, but...", Kirishima mumbled.

Suddenly a loud roar was heard, and the beast-like member of class B jumped down from one of the buildings. He grabbed Kirishima in an instant, not giving us any chance to do something about it.

"We'd already taken into account that we'd be located by Lady (y/n)", the beast named Shishida said. "Of course we also knew you'd be most wary of Lady Shiozaki! So we used her as a decoy, allowing me to crawl up close! There's a strong possibility that, if we left him with his devices, Sir Kaminari could run away with the match.
