Chapter 12

"(y/n)", I vaguely heard a voice say.

I didn't respond or move. I just wanted to sleep.

"(y/n)", the voice said again.

Leave me alone.

"(y/n)!", the voice said with a tone of urgency.

My eyes snapped open and I saw Todoroki standing in front of me with a worried expression on his face. His hands lingered on my shoulders.

"Sho-chan!", I said in a relieved tone and I threw my arms around him.

"(y/n), are you okay?", he asked before he pulled back a bit. "Why are you crying?"

"Huh?"

Todoroki tenderly wiped a tear from my face, making me blush. I pulled him into a hug again to hide my face from him.

"Why are you in Recovery Girl's office?", he asked without letting me go. "Are you injured? Did Bakugo hurt you?"

I couldn't help but smile at his worried tone.

"No", I answered. "I wasn't injured. I stayed here for you."

"Then why are you in a bed?"

"Huh?", I asked as I pulled back just enough to look into Todoroki's eyes.

I looked around to see that I was in one of the beds. I tensed when the door suddenly opened, but I relaxed when Recovery Girl walked in.

"She fell asleep", the healing heroine said. "All Might came by to check on you, (y/n). I didn't want to wake you, so I told him to put you in one of the beds to sleep."

"T-Thank you, Recovery Girl", I said.

All Might came to check on me? I'm starting to like that guy more and more.

"What time is it?", Todoroki then asked.

"I don't know, somewhere in the middle of the night", Recovery Girl answered.

"The middle of the night?!", I repeated. "Then why are we still here?"

"I didn't want to wake either of you", the heroine answered with a small smile. "You were here all afternoon, (y/n), waiting for your friend to wake up. Usually family comes to pick the patients up or they're healed enough to walk out on their own. You were both asleep and your family didn't come, so I would've had to kick you out. I told the principal I'd stay here with you."

"Thank you, Recovery Girl", Todoroki formally said. "I appreciate it."

"Yeah, thank you", I agreed. "I could go home now though."

"Oh, don't be silly", Recovery Girl said. "I'm not sending two kids home in the middle of the night. Not even kids as strong as you. You can stay here tonight. I'll be nearby."

"Thanks", I mumbled.

Recovery Girl nodded once more before she walked out of the room. I turned my head. My breath hitched when I realized how close Todoroki was. I was sitting up in the bed and he was standing next to it, his arm still lingering around my waist from our hug before.

He looked at me and took a step back.

"Guess we'll be sleeping here tonight", he concluded.

"Yeah, guess so", I mumbled.

Todoroki walked to the door to turn off the light. Then he walked back to his own bed.

Is it bad that I want him to stay with me?
