On Monday I met up with Todoroki before school because he said he wanted to talk to me. I was kind of embarrassed to admit that I was nervous. Todoroki rarely said things like that. And even so, what would be so important that he wanted to see me before school?
"Hey, Sho-chan", I smiled as I walked up to him.
His heterochromic eyes found mine and I couldn't help but stare. Fortunately, Todoroki was so dense that he probably didn't even notice it anyway.
"(y/n)", he greeted me. "Thank you for coming."
"Of course", I mumbled as I went to stand next to him. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Two things actually", Todoroki answered. "Since you agreed to train with me, I was wondering when you would be available. Would you prefer to do it before or after school?"
Of course it's about something like this. I really don't know what I was expecting.
"Uhm, doesn't really matter", I answered. "I'm always happy to avoid home, so whenever you want."
Todoroki's eyes widened a bit.
"You hate going home so much?", he asked.
"Yeah", I uncomfortably confessed. "I just hate my parents. As long as I can lock myself in my room I'm fine."
Todoroki continued to look at me for a second. Then he cleared his throat and averted his eyes.
"Well, I can relate to that", he mumbled. "I was thinking we could train after school three times a week."
"Sounds good to me", I answered with a smile. "When would be good for you?"
"It doesn't really matter", he shrugged. "I think Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays should be fine."
I nodded.
"We should talk to sensei about reserving one of the training halls for those times", I said. "We have homeroom later, so that shouldn't be a problem."
Todoroki nodded.
"So what was the other thing you wanted to talk about?", I asked.
"Oh, yeah", Todoroki answered as he averted his eyes. "That..."
He seems awfully uncomfortable... What's this about?
I decided not to push him, so I just waited in silence until he looked up at me again.
"I went to see my mother", he stated.
"You did?", I asked in surprise. "When?"
"Before the internships", Todoroki answered. "And I went to visit her a couple of times after that."
"That's great, Sho-chan", I said as I put my hand on his arm. "What made you decide to visit her?"
"What Midoriya said during the Sports Festival. I remember telling you that I don't judge people based on their quirks, and later telling you that your quirk doesn't define what kind of person you are. When Midoriya said that my power was my own and I finally used it, I just wanted to see her. At first she apologized, and then we just started talking."
I showed him a weak smile.
Fuck, I'm so awkward. What am I supposed to respond to something like this?
"Your mother sounds great, Sho-chan", I softly said.
"She asked about you", Todoroki stated.
"S-She knows who I am?", I asked.
