Emma's POV

The sound of my clattering feet matched my thumping heart. I did not let myself overthink or even think about my decision, if I did, then I knew I would turn back around because what I'm going to do is pretty much insane and wacko and any other word that describes lunacy

Approaching the entrance of the second floor, my breath hitched. The memories were too fresh, too vivid and too marring. My worst nightmares came true here and maybe I do have Stockholm Syndrome, maybe Leo was right because going back to my captor was down right mental.

The sound of soft and hushed grunts filling the lonely air caught my attention, the whole floor was empty. Even though the place looked the same it didn't feel the same at all. I scanned my surroundings but there was no one in sight, where were these noises coming from. The whimpering stopped and a loud thud came from behind an isolated pillar. I made a beeline towards it just as Leo abruptly walked from around it.

His eyes were a little red, his knuckles soaked in blood, hair disheveled and shirt stained. He was wearing the same clothes he had worn yesterday. Did this mean he returned this morning directly from wherever he was at? He hurried back. The thought made a smile creep on my face but it soon washed away when I saw him looking at me.

Utterly perplexed

"What's wrong? What are you doing back here?!" He questions coming up to me. "I—" I took a deep breath, no time to contemplate just do it!

"I have a proposition for you." I said nodding my head curtly.

"Are you cra—" I didn't let him complete.

"No I am not crazy Mr Lancaster. I have a deal in mind that would be beneficial to the both of us, if you would just hear me out please." I tried to sound as professional as possible. Holding my own in front of his frowning and intimidating face.

"No!" I jumped taken aback by his outburst. "What's wrong with you? I'm the big bad wolf who you're supposed stay away from." I open my mouth to speak up but he cuts me off.

"You are so fucking pathetic! Here I give you an out but you come right back, you stupid girl. Are you demented? Just get lost, I don't want to have anything to do with you ever!"

I would not cry, no matter how harsh his words were, it was his guilt projecting itself in such a manner. I knew he was lying, I could see it, it was his defence mechanism for some bloody reason. Even if he didn't care and even if he was a rotten egg after all, I was still going to go ahead with my plan. I was angry, so mad at my parents and I did not want to go back home. He was my only chance at escape.

I composed myself and took a step towards him as he ran his longs fingers through his deep silky hair. "Well I don't give a shit and I'm not leaving until you hear me out." I stood my ground and when he did not answer I continued.

"My parents, they don't deserve my return and quite frankly I don't want to go back to them."

"As for your part of the deal, Phoenix will want to know where I am and more importantly who let me go. So if I'm with you we can stay ahead of him. See win-win." I smartly leave out the part where the actual reason I turned around was to make sure he was okay after everything that happened.
