Emma's POV

Carter and I enter the house feeling perturbed as too what lies in Merediths file. The house seems eerily quite, which is a good thing because now we can look into Meredith's file without any potential disturbances A.K.A Leo.

"Let's go to my room and dig in" I tell Carter

"Geez Emma it's not food" I roll my eyes at him and proceed to move past him with clear intent in my mind.

"Hey back so soon" damn it! Leo as gorgeous as he is at looking like Adonis a literal Greek god, is even smarter at perception. One wrong move right now and Carter and I's plan to find Meredith whilst keeping Leo in the dark will be kaput.

I can see Leo approach us from my peripheral vision and just like the cat I am I jump back on my feet. Quickly. Stealthily.

"Hi Leo" I make eyes at Carter signalling him to go away before Leo sees the file.

"So where's my gift?" He wraps his arms around my waist, reaching my form in three large strides. "What gift?"

"You said you're going to the mall to get me a gift" Leo says suspiciously, arching his chest away.

Oh shit, I did, Now!

"Um yes I did but...but gifts are so..so impersonal don't you think, thats why I decided that I'm going to—" I look around, spotting the kitchen. "Bake you something".

Leo makes an amused face and leans into me. "I much rather you give me something—" he looks at my lips and then back at my eyes "More personal" he licks his lips.

Okay let's go, I'm ready.

"No you're not" my subconscious tells me.

Why? "Because you doofus, you're investigating Meredith, who is connected to his sketchy ass".

Right! yes sorry.

"As much as I want to do that and believe me I do, how about cookies since I am starving" I say.

"Aren't you always" Leo chuckles and follows me into the kitchen.

"Okay so I need flour, butter, vanilla extract, sugar and salt" I tell Leo who looks at me cluelessly.

"Isn't this your kitchen?" I ask and he just shruggs his shoulders.

"You can start by finding the said ingredients" I order him. "Yes boss" he salutes and I giggle.

"So what now?" Leo asks placing the ingredients in front of me. "Now, you help me and in return I feed you" I say tying an apron around myself.

"Mix the sugar and the butter" I tell Leo after seeing he hasn't moved from his stance of a statue. I move on with my duties but when I look back at him to see what he is doing I realise that he is not going be of much help.

"No!" I hold back Leo's arms. "That's salt!"

"What?"

"You just put in two cups of salt" I say laughing at him.
