The only noise that cut through the cold silence in the air was the impatient tapping of my nervous foot. Leo promised me no lies, this was his tell-all. Well technically the tell-all of his previous tell-all.

The mother tell-all

The thought of throwing this all away was liberating but the thought of leaving Leo was excruciating. My mind, soul and body belonged to only one person. And that one person was sure to be my doom.

Leo was sure to trample me, crush me and destroy me whole, but not before making me completely and utterly his, not before marking each fragment of my being, not before claiming my heart.

His life was not different. It was destructive. His darkness was consuming me, his demons were haunting me to no avail. It's funny how opposite we are and yet how close we got. My heart ached for his, my body yearned for his touch but my mind was a traitor. A devious deceiver turning me away from getting dragged down the fiery pits of sweet hell.

"Fuck. I don't know where to start...it's a..a really long story" I gulp already knowing my reply.

"I've got all day" Leo looks at me with an expression matching to that of a lost boy stranded in a wildly fair. He nods and gulps and then looks away from me. Clearly giving me an indication that what he was about to say was either going to make me hate him or make him hate himself even more than he already does.

"Meredith is a friend—" I walk further away from Leo and sit at the edge of his bed, bracing myself. "More than a friend" my expression changed immediately to a sour scowl. Does he plan to give me the gory details of his love affair?

Reading my discerned emotion, Leo was quick to catch on and he immediately shook his head. "No I didn't mean that, fuck Emma, most of what I'm going to say is going to confuse you"

"Just promise me-" in three long strides Leo's intimidating form reached mine. He kneels coming face to face with me. "Promise you won't leave me" my hands raise to comfort his but I immediately grip at my fingers tightly, refusing to comfort him and instead I just give him a simple nod.

A false nod.

"Our fathers are acquaintances. You already know my father is into drug smuggling but there is...there is more, much more" Leo pinches his eyes shut. Without thinking this time my hands palm his face. He opens his eyes in surprise but my delicate touch doesn't waver in the least.

"I won't hate you and I won't blame you for your father's deeds, you can tell me" I know only my words are going to give him the strength he needs to let out the daunting secrets of Phoenix.

"My father and Vincent De Laurentiis are into human trafficking" my hands immediately fall from Leo's face and even though I was sitting down, it seemed like I took a step away from him. My world was already tumbling down in the harrowing mix that I found myself in, but this..this was too much. There was so much wrong in this family.

"They even trafficked children and they are involved in murder and extortion among other heinous crimes" I choked on a sob that was prominently knotted in my throat. This was horrible. No, horrible doesn't even begin to describe these horrendous crimes.
