Caleb rolled his eyes. "I'm serious Reyna." He said frowning. "You can't afford to take more damage. This isn't a game." (Just take me seriously for once.) He thought. "None if us want to see you turned to stone."
Iseki frowned. (This guy needs to lighten up a little don't he.) He thought towards Reyna.
Reyna pouted slightly at caleb lecturing her. "Okay. You think i like the idea of being turned into a fucking statue?" She reasoned with soft seriousness. "So dont tell me how im handling slowly dying is me acting like its a game. Youve known me for a few days. This is my life were talking about. Theyd all be dead without my heroics. Im not going to say ill just sit idly if something happens that i can fix. Its not like I went looking for trouble. So you can cut the lecture shit."
Caleb's frown deepened. "Until we can fix it that's exactly what I want you to do. Absolutely nothing that could get you hurt." He said looking at her. "We'll all stay on high alert so you don't have to do anything heroic. But if something does happen, please just lay low and don't do anything reckless."
"Relax. I'm not leaving her side again so she'll have backup any time she needs it." Iseki said seriously.
Brodan laughed. "The little guy is right. None of us are gonna let her get hurt if it can be helped." He said clapping Caleb on the back almost knocking him over.
Anoch nodded. "They are right. Ms Reyna is all of our top priority." He added.
Sunlaw sat up and shrugged. "We'll find some way to break the curse as soon as possible.
Reyna saluted caleb then. "Yes sir." She said plainly. She didnt need the lecture. But she had to admit she was surprised he even cared. Was it her they cared about? Or just their queen? She felt like she was right back to square one. Not knowing who really cared or not. She stayed sitting next to the fire that didnt offer much heat at all to her cold bones. "Is was telling me about this really beautiful field of flowers. I'd like to stop by and see it on our way too. Even if its out of the way. Itd be nice to see something good in this world." She added idly as she looked to the fire. She didnt want to make it seem like a big deal. But it seemed like the perfect time to bring it up.
Sunlaw nodded. "Well how far off is it?" He asked casually.
Iseki closed his eyes for a moment. "About ten pachs east of where we are now." He said when he opened his eyes again.
Caleb frowned and shook his head. (We don't have time for this shit.) He thought.
"That's quite a ways out of the way." Sunlaw said frowning. "Maldaven is west not east of us." He didn't know what he was supposed to do. "We can go after we get some information about your curse and how to break it." He offered as a compromise.
Reyna set a frown on her face. "I havent asked you guys for anything." She said softly. "I have been caged and chased. My hand almost cut off and bombshells dropped on me about my family and who im supposed to be. Ive had to try to outrun a churnog and had these threads tied to me. Ive tamed a churnog. Been cursed to turn to stone. And ive even died. Ive never once complained about a single thing youve asked me to do or anything that has happened to me. Not once. I havent whined or bitched ive just gone along with everything you people want from me. Ive let you boss me around and yank me around and talk to me like you all know whats best for me better than me. And I havent complained. I am covered in stone and bruises and clothes that arent mine. And im full of broken bones and anxiety. Im asking for one thing as a small break to actually do something that i want to do to see good in this world." She looked around to each of them pleadingly.
