Mary showed up late to school. The assembly ended ten minutes ago and classes were about to start.

Instead of rushing to the class, she took her time catwalking.

She reached the floor of her class and breathed a sigh of relief. She took a step In the direction of her class when a figure blocked her way.

An annoyed sigh escaped her lips as she looked up at the skinned girl who stood in her way. She looks at her with judgmental eyes from the hairs on her head down to her shoes.

She was tall but not taller than her, her natural hair was slicked back and packed in an afro puff, with her edges perfectly made. She looked confident and daring as she smiled at Mary.

Mary glared at her not believing the sincerity behind the girl's smile.

Her entire demeanor shouted fake and Mary knew such people very well.

"Why are you standing in my way?" She asked the girl.

"My name is Diane, I saw you during closing period yesterday and took a liking to you, I want to be friends." the girl smiled wider.

"Sorry to break it to you Diane but I'm very picky when it comes to friends and you don't have what I'm looking for. So I advise you to walk away." Mary scoffed.

Diane was taken aback by Mary's rude remark, she had rumors that the new girl was extremely rude, but now she had experienced it herself. And she was not happy. Nobody talks to her in that manner.

"You rude bitch, so the rumors about you are true! And do you know who I am in this school? People beg to be friends with me and yet I offered friendship to you on a golden platter." Diane angrily lashed out

"If your friendship was so expensive then you wouldn't have approached me bitch" Mary glared at her one more time before pushing her out of the way and walking to her class.

A figure hiding by the staircase watched the whole display with a smirk on her face.

She was the newscaster of the school, the amebo mistress.

The class was in full swing when Mary got in.

"Why are you late to class Jackson?" The English teacher Mrs Afolabi asked her as she stared at her through her thick round glasses.

The whole class had their eyes fixed on her as they whispered to their seat partners. And for once Mary didn't like the attention she was receiving.

"My car broke down on the way here ma, I'm very sorry." She apologized

"It better not happen again. You can go have a seat." Mrs. Afolabi said sternly after thoroughly eyeing her.

She scurried to her sit mumbling under her breath. "See this one, am I the one in control of the car" she hissed.
