Chapter 25 ~ For a Guy who says that he Doesn't Love me, you get Jealous Easily

One thing I definitely wasn't expecting was to wake up in Kai's arms in the morning.

Somewhere in the night, I had rolled off of Sofie and fell onto Kai. I was now lying next to him with my head against his chest. The blanket was draped over me while Kai's arms secured my warmth.

Instinctively, I lift my chin up to kiss Kai's cheek gently. However, I wasn't expecting Kai's eyes to flutter open. His eyes immediately look down to stare into mine. Seeing his drowsy eyes stare at me after what I just did made me blush.

"Cute." He comments. He chuckles to himself, causing my face to turn into an even deeper shade of red.

"Hey, don't tease me like that!" I playfully hit his shoulder. Kai chuckles again, his voice raspy from just waking up.

"But you're cute when you're embarrassed." He smiles.

"Shut up." I mumble quietly.

"Go get ready, and I'll go make breakfast." Kai tells me as he takes his arm off of my waist, immediately missing the warmth and security. I stand up and head to the side bathroom while Kai disappears into the kitchen.

Knowing where he kept his extra toiletries and spare clothes, I open the cabinet. I take out a new toothbrush and toothpaste and began doing my business. Perks of being loaded.

Kai's home was basically my second home. I felt comfortable and safe in his house. I knew that I was welcomed here, but it still feels strange to step into his house after we broke up.

Especially how he disappeared for awhile without telling me.

After freshening up, I change into a white spaghetti-strap tank top and blue denim shorts. Making sure I wouldn't get cold, I tossed on a burgundy sweatshirt - courtesy of Kai's sister who went through an extreme growth spurt in freshman year. Her old clothes that she outgrown were now stored in a cabinet in the smaller bathroom for anyone to use and wear.

Once I was changed, I started to braid my frizzy hair into two Dutch braids. Just as I was finishing up, I heard Kai call my name. I left the bathroom after checking myself out one last time and walked into the kitchen. I was immediately greeted by the smell of freshly sizzled bacon and perfect pancakes.

"It smells so good, Kai!" I exclaim in wonder, letting the delicious smells engulf me.

"Thanks." Kai smiles softly back at me as he places two plates with two pancakes and two pieces of bacon on them. A bottle of maple syrup and other pancake toppings also lay on the table. His hair was still messy, but he was now wearing a clean, navy blue t-shirt and a pair of off-white ripped jeans.
