chapter 39 ~ guess the drama isn't over just yet
ADRIENNE

"I swear, your mom secretly hates me!"

"How would you know? She's only talked to you a couple of times and every time was just a simple greeting and goodbye!" I fire back.

"She does! She gives me this stare every single time!" Alec responds.

"That's because she's trying to examine you! She doesn't hate you!"

Yeah. I guess this could be counted as Alec and I's first official argument since...

...well I guess we're not technically a couple yet.

It was the day after Alec had asked me to prom. It was a little more than 24 hours, and we still hadn't DTR yet. I didn't want to pressure him to make things official, but I hated waiting.

It was Tuesday evening. Alec and I are supposed to have another friendly date on Thursday, Mia and I are going prom dress shopping Friday, prom is Saturday, graduation is Monday, summer officially starts Tuesday, and all the seniors leave for the senior trip Wednesday morning.

Time was running out, and there were too many loose ends that needed to be tied up.

"Well if you think that my mom hates you, then that must mean that you have a quality that makes you dislikeable." I conclude. Alec's jaw drops open as he feigns hurt.

"Are you calling me dislikeable?" Alec fake scoffs.

"To a certain extent." I smirk. Before I could react, Alec reaches across the table to grab my arms, attempting to tickle me.

"Alec, stop!" I say. Luckily, we were at a table outside, and there wasn't a lot of people around us to question our sanity.

"You called me dislikeable!" He retorts. He continues to tickle me as I squirm around in my seat.

"A-Alec!" I say between gasps for air.

"Ahem." A voice clears.

I quickly stop moving as Alec retracts his arms. We both look up to see a young waitress holding our food while giving us a disapproving stare.
