Chapter 43 ~ Cheers to Officially Being an Adult
| ADRIENNE |
"No, you can't just sleep in!" Mia shrieks. After a long night of tossing and turning, I had only gotten an estimated 3 hours of sleep.
"Why not?" I groan, pulling my blanket further above my head.
"Because it's graduation, duh! You've suffered through 4 long years of high school, why miss getting your fancy diploma?" She replies, yanking the blanket off of my head and causing me to yelp.
"It's not like I have to go. They'll mail it to me anyways." I sit up and rub my eyes tiredly.
"Girl, this is one of your last chances to see all your classmates! Even though some of them sucks, it will still hit different once you know you have to say goodbye." She continues.
"No it won't."
"Fine, I bet $20 that you'll cry at the end of graduation." Mia smirks mischievously.
"Bet."

In Mia's black Camry, we began making our way towards school. Considering the fact that every senior was heading to school right now and that we weren't exactly super early, the lines were extremely long.
We were both in our traditional black gowns as our personally decorated caps rested on my lap. Mia's cap was Tyler and Mia themed while mine was just decorated with a variety of rhinestones I found in my craft box.
Mia's red hair was pulled back in a high ponytail while mine was pull back in a fishtail braid. Both of us had light make-up on because Mia explained that "if we have too much make-up on, the heat and our tears will melt our face off."
"If this long ass line makes us late to our own graduation, I'm burning the school down." Mia bites out. Even though we were less than 5 minutes away from the school, the line only moved a couple of feet every minute.
"There's no way. Look how many people are behind us. Even if we were late, we would be late along with like 50 other students." I say. In fact, I was pretty sure I saw Ms. Rancher in the car behind us.
"Whatever, this line is so stupid."

"You ladies sure took your time." Tyler smiles as Mia and I enter the auditorium 5 minutes before the principal was going to begin her speech. Alec stood next to Tyler, looking absolutely dashing in his graduation gown and cap.
