chapter 31 ~ i don't do well with confessions

KAI: Hey, so about the meet up... I was thinking, are you free at 7:00?

ADRIENNE: i thought we were hanging out- isn't that a bit late lol

KAI: You'll see :)

ADRIENNE: ok mr. mysterious. see u at 7 then :D

KAI: See you then.

Turning my phone off, I decide to finish my homework before Kai comes to pick me up.

When 6:30 comes along, I got dressed in a cute blouse with a pair of jeans. After applying a thin layer of make-up and tying my hair up into a messy bun, I was ready to meet up with Kai.

When 7:00 comes around, my doorbell rang to let me know that Kai had arrived. Carefully, I walk down the stairs to open the door for him.

"Hey." I greet. Kai stands at my doorstep with his hands tucked behind his back and a goofy smile on his face. He wore a casual shirt with a pair of tight jeans.

"Hey, Adrienne. You ready to head out?" He asks, swiping a hand through his hair.

"Yeah." I follow Kai outside and into his car. With a quick turn of the wheel, he pulls out of my driveway and onto the road.

"So... where we going?" I ask.

"Do you really think I'm going to tell you?" Kai responds. He turns his face to give me a quick glance, and when he does, I see a smirk.

"You know I hate secrets, Kai." I groan, poking his shoulder.

"But I love secrets. Just be patient, Adrienne, and you'll see for yourself pretty soon." He hums.

"I hate you." I grumble.

"You don't mean that." 

"Yes, I do."
