Steve and Elizabeth had parted ways with promises to meet at a local bar that evening after dinner. Once she reached the airfield where the girls were being boarded up, Elizabeth opened her trunk and pulled out the only dress she had brought with her and sighed. It wasn't her favorite, but she put it on anyways.

Anita also dressed herself up for the evening and paused when she looked at Elizabeth standing behind her in the mirror.

"My goodness, Elizabeth Rogers, you clean up nice!"

"Oh hush up, this dress looks rather drab, don't you think?" Elizabeth asked, fiddling with the hem of her dress. Anita turned around and gave her a wide-eyed stare.

"Are you kidding me? I love the pattern, you look stunning," she gushed. Her own dress was also beautiful, a baby pink that matched her silver necklace that she had gotten from her mother.

The two girls headed to the bar shortly after, getting whistles from all the different soldiers that they passed. A mixture of embarrassment and annoyance caused Lizzie's face to flush, but once they got to the bar, it was a little better.

The room was dimly lit and crowded, the sounds of men and women talking everywhere. Elizabeth was overwhelmed, but she saw through to the back where there was a table of Steve's men. The two girls made their way over to the table, who all looked up at the two girls as they approached.

"Well, well, if it isn't Little Rogers. You're tagging along with us, huh?" The man that Elizabeth recognized as Dum Dum Dugan said.

"It appears so," Elizabeth smirked. She looked around the table at all the men, resting her eyes on Gabe Jones, who was almost drooling over the sight of Anita. Anita was mindlessly looking around the room to see if any of the nurses were there when Elizabeth nudged her. Anita yelped and was about to curse at Elizabeth when she too, noticed Gabe.

"This is Anita Walker, my friend, and a fellow nurse," Elizabeth said, to which the table cheered and they all went around introducing themselves.

When Gabe was translating for Jacques Dernier, Anita got interested in him, eager to learn of his education and background, so she subtly dropped a hint.

"Say, I really do love this song," she said.

"Oh really? Care for a dance?" Gabe asked, standing up a little too eagerly. Anita blushed and giggled with the rest of the group.

"Why sure!" Anita said, parting ways with Elizabeth, who was still laughing at Gabe's reaction.

"Say, are you looking for a dance too?" Jim Morita asked Elizabeth. He was another part of Steve's chosen squad.

"Oh, Jim, you know I've got a partner waiting for me," Elizabeth replied, scanning the room for Bucky. "Speaking of which, where is he?"

All the men immediately pointed back even further into the bar where it was a little quieter. She thanked them with a wave before heading back. She spotted Bucky and Steve drinking together and talking. Bucky seemed to sense that Elizabeth was there because he turned and noticed her, his eyes wandering up and down her.

She was dressed in a baby blue dress that hugged her curves and fell down just slightly above the knee. Her hair was down, but perfectly curled, and the light hit just right to bring out the sparkle in her blue eyes.

She made her way over to the men, not taking her eyes off of Bucky for even a second.

"Hello, gentlemen," she said, sitting down at the bar beside Steve. She knew that Bucky being unable to touch her was driving him wild, and she smirked at him. Steve was completely unaware of this interaction, so he began to talk to the two of them about when they were scheduled to leave.
