When Elizabeth arrived in Wakanda, she was welcomed by M'Baku, the new King of Wakanda. The man seemed to be different, more somber than he had once been. She was allowed to stay in the palace while she tried to seek out her old home.

She had walked to the area where she had once lived with Bucky, but when she arrived, all she saw was devastation. Nothing had grown there in years. It was still barren from when the alien ships had landed not so long ago.

Elizabeth even tried to dig up the round to see if anything was buried beneath, but she found nothing. She was desperate to find something, to find anything of Bucky's, but all she had was the journal.

Later that night, Elizabeth found herself drowning her sorrows at an empty bar. She hadn't bothered touching any kind of drink in years, but her desperation at the loss of her old home had sent her over the edge.

It had been two years since Bucky had been taken from her, 23 months since they had killed Thanos and 22 months since she had lost the baby.

There was nothing left in the world that had a piece of Bucky. Nothing except a tiny journal full of his thoughts and memories. It was beginning to sink into Elizabeth that Bucky wasn't coming back.

Elizabeth was tired of crying, so instead, she drank. She couldn't get very drunk, but she could feel a buzz if she drank fast enough, so she started and finished an entire bottle of whiskey in a matter of a minute.

She then started a second one, choosing instead to pour it into a glass in a more civilized fashion. She drank them quickly, much to the dismay of the bartender. Elizabeth looked down as her fingers swirling around the glass containing her seventh drink. She polished it off quickly before setting it down and giving a pointed look to the bartender.

"Another," she said, gaining a concerned glance from the bartender.

"Are you sure you should be drinking that much?" A voice came from beside her.

Elizabeth turned and watched as M'Baku himself sat down beside her, and much to her annoyance watched as the bartender bowed and left the two alone at the bar.

"What, are you keeping tabs on me now?" Elizabeth demanded.

"You are my guest. It is my job to make sure that you are well," M'Baku replied.

"Well," Elizabeth said, standing in her seat and leaning over the bar to grab the bottle of whiskey. "I'd say I'm doing just fine."

She poured herself a full glass before suddenly the bottle and the glass was yanked away from her.

"No more, my friend," M'Baku said.

"Come on," Elizabeth whined, reaching out and finding herself incredibly close to the man. She froze there for a second, her mind flashing to Bucky and the intimate moments that she had shared with him.

That's all she wanted. She wanted him and his attention and his passion and his smile, but in front of her, she had someone else.

"Are you alright?" M'Baku asked.

Elizabeth looked up into his eyes, his lips tangibly close to hers.

"I said, I'm fine," she said before closing her eyes and kissing him.

M'Baku stood there, stunned for a moment before kissing her back. She too was there, and close, and he was recovering from the past few years. The mantle of King was difficult for him to bear, and Elizabeth was there to help him forget all about it.

"Wait, wait," he suddenly said as Elizabeth's fingers had made their way down to the seam of his pants.

"Stop, my friend, stop. We cannot do this," M'Baku said, pushing her hands away.
