Beacon Of Light

Chapter Three

They all rushed around the house grabbing what they could at the last possible second. Chanyeol watched as his friends grabbed things at random packing what they could. Time was running out and they had no time to waste. "Guys, we need to hurry". Sehun yelled from the other room. That sensation flooded through Kai as he could sense that someone was coming. The air was filled with static electricity making his hairs stand up. Lay upon realizing how frozen Kai was sensed his odd behavior. "Kai, you okay?" Lay asked worriedly at how Kai wasn't moving. He kept staring at the wall a panic expression on his face. "Chen are you by any chance somehow using your power?" Kai asked barely above a whisper.

Chen stopped what he was doing and glanced over at Kai who had his back turned. "No, why? Why do you ask?" Chen asked confused by his statement. Kai looked around at his friends confused. "You don't feel that?" He asked. All seven members looked confused. "Feel what Kai you're not making sense". Chanyeol said equally confused.

Kai took a deep breath the feeling growing stronger. "The static in the air. Do you not feel it?" He asked concerned as to why he was the only one affected. Xiumin shook his head. "No, I can't feel any static. Why what does the static mean?"

"When we were finding Baekhyun, I felt the air grow stronger with static electricity and right now it's getting thicker by the minute which could only mean one thing. The Red Force have found us which means we only have few minutes max to get out. We can't have a repeat of what happened earlier. We need to grab Baekhyun and teleport to the cabin". Kai said a little panic to his voice.

"You guys go on without me. I'll only slow you down. Maybe I can throw them off by having them follow me. Besides teleporting all of us will only drain Kai's energy. I'll send out a signal once I know I lost them. Go grab Baek and leave". By the tone of Chanyeol's voice they knew he was serious. "No we're not leaving without you. We're leaving together". Kai argued back.

"But if we all go we'll be a bigger target. It's best if I stay behind. I can avert them elsewhere that isn't putting your lives at risk. You guys will have a chance of escaping from the Red Force. Besides like I said before Kai's energy will only drain quicker. We have to be wise on this decision and quickly".

"But that means your life will be in danger. And I promised your parents that I wouldn't let anything happen to you, or any of you for that matter. I'm sorry but I can't let you sacrifice yourself to the Red Force". Suho said disagreeing with the idea.

Sehun walked besides Chanyeol's side and put a hand on his shoulder. He looked at his friends taking a deep breath.

"Sehun, don't". D.O's voice rose.

"I'll stay with Chanyeol. I won't let anything happen to him. Chanyeol's right the bigger the number the bigger the risk may be and lives could be lost. If we separate we can avert them away causing them confusion. I'm willing to sacrifice myself if it means protecting you guys". Sehun said bravely without hesitation.

"Sehun, you don't know what they'll do to you. If you or Chanyeol get captured there may be no coming back from this. Think about your plan carefully. Things could get ugly which you should prepare for". D.O stated worriedly for his younger friend.

Sehun nodded looking at the ground. "I've already made up my mind. I feel as it's my duty to protect you guys. I'll stay and protect Chanyeol we'll quickly put the idea into play. You guys need to go. Stay safe and remember we'll contact you when we're in the clear". Sehun said glancing at his friends reactions.

Suddenly in the distance a crack of thunder rumbled in the distance followed by a flash of lightning. "They're here quickly leave we'll see each other soon". Chanyeol said looking around at his friends.

Suho was about to protest when another flash came from outside startling them. They could hear as the lightening struck a tree shattering it, pieces breaking the windows. "Go, go now. Grab Baek and don't worry about us. We'll see each other soon". Chanyeol's tone came out shaky.

"Be careful remember to stay in contact. Kai will find you soon". Suho said as he looked to his younger friends.

Kai grabbed a hold of Baekhyun and they all disappeared in a cloud of black smoke. Just as they disappeared the Red Force burst through the windows just in time allowing Sehun and Chanyeol to escape out the back.

Both of them ran as fast as they possibly could avoiding the lightning bolts that struck nearby. Tree bark splintered off as lightning hit making them dodge the pieces of wood.

Chanyeol set off a fire ball aiming at the Red Force that was gaining on him. One of the Red Force was struck by the fire ball and went down. But two more took his place. Chanyeol limped ignoring the pain that they caused. Sehun pulled harder on his hand protecting him from the splintering of wood. "Keep going we're almost there" Sehun yelled as he could see a break away in the woods. If they could get there they could hide under some thick brush.

"I'm fighting to hold on but my knee is hurting something awful. Sehun, I need to stop. I'll sacrifice myself but contact Kai he'll take you to safety. Don't worry about me". He pleaded.

Sehun whipped his head around looking at me that was alarmingly scary. I flinched as his face hardened with anger. "I'm not leaving my best friend with those sick people. We've come this far to not give up. We're almost there just a bit longer and we'll be safe. I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself just to protect me". Sehun said his tone sharp yet held softness. Sehun stopped confusing Chanyeol.

"Here get on my back. If you're in too much pain to carry on I'll carry you. You'd do the same for me. Now get on". He demanded. Chanyeol was stunned to be honest. He'd never seen Sehun act so bold before. A bolt of lightning hit near by startling the boys. Chanyeol hopped on putting his life in Sehun's hands.
