Chapter Fourteen

Suho picked at his spaghetti no longer having an appetite. His worries were outweighing everything including his appetite. "You're a great leader Suho, one of the best. And none of us wish either to get hurt especially you. The Red Force attacked us when we left our guards down. Which resulted in our friends getting hurt. From this day forward we will not go out alone, the bigger the number the better. None of this was your fault Suho, you're doing what you can do and all of us will have your back. Now eat up. We need to keep strong". D.O said leaning on the counter.

Suho did as he was told and ate the left over spaghetti. The house was oddly quiet which worried him. But the loudest people were Baekhyun and Chanyeol when put together. Sine Baekhyun was hurt he no longer spoke only thing he did was cry due to nightmares plaguing his mind. Suho looked out the front door to see everyone was on the porch including Lay.

Lay was watching the stars as his friends talked about what happened earlier. His mind was whirling with thoughts about his friends and trying to keep them out of harms way. But the Red Force was always watching them waiting to pull their next experiment. They were all victims of being in the grasp of the Red Force who was way to powerful. To them they were puppets on a string that they could toy with. They were tired of being treated like objects instead of people. But the Red Force didn't view it that way. Lay shivered at all the possibilities.

Kai who was sitting next to Lay noticed the boy shaking. "Are you cold Lay?" Kai asked nudging the said boy. Lay snapped out of his trance. He looked at Kai shaking his head. "A little". Lay replied as he looked back up at the stars that were twinkling. Something about the stars always soothes him that reminded him of home. "Here take this". Kai shrugged off his hoodie handing it to Lay. Lay looked up dumbfounded at his friend. "Take it back you need it to keep warm". Lay protested shoving the fabric towards Kai. Kai handed it back to Lay. "I'm already warm. You use it to keep yourself warm". Kai said giving him a smile.

Lay slipped on the hoodie that was two sizes too big hugging it towards his body. "Thanks". Lay replied grateful to have some warmth. Kai nodded. "You're welcome".

They all fell into silence as they looked out at the night sky. It was a bright night the moon lighting up a path to shine her beauty on the landscape below. "I'm going to watch Baekhyun for the night. To make sure he'll be okay. If you need me you know where I'll be". Suho spoke before he walked back into the house.

Everyone knew that Suho was taking this hard blaming himself for his friends getting hurt. But what scared them the most was the mind of Baekhyun and how badly he was hurt. Mentally he wasn't with them. Instead his mind is stuck on what happened to him and the experiments that they did on him. They weren't for sure if Baekhyun would ever be the same again. The old wounds were reopened, but new ones formed possibly causing him to shutdown completely. And that was worse case scenario.

Chanyeol who was being the quietest of them all wondered how he went wrong in protecting Baekhyun. He was mad at the Red Force for what they done, but he was more angry at himself for not being a better friend. He sighed shaking his head as thoughts kept creeping into his mind.

"I'm going to try and sleep goodnight". The youngest, Sehun bided goodnight while the others talked.

One by one they all go to bed except one who worried for the boy lying asleep in front of him.
