Chapter Forty Four// Final Chapter

Xiao-ping and the others arrived at the compound their hearts racing in their chests. They looked around observing their surroundings noticing that the place was in the middle of nowhere. Only a few guards were walking outside the building. "Guys you know what to do. Chanyeol and Xiumin you take the outside and the lower levels. Chen and Lay you're with me in search of Baekhyun. The rest you know what to do. We'll meet back here all together". Xiao-ping said as they all went separate ways.

Both Chanyeol and Xiumin used their powers as the Red Force began to attack them. Chanyeol melted their weapons with his flame power. Xiumin froze a few of them on spot as they surpassed the first floor. "Xiumin remember to reserve your power if you get tired. We can't afford to lose strength". Chanyeol said as they rounded the corner. Xiumin nodded before freezing one of the Red Force's guns in the process.

As Chen, Lay and Xiao-ping searched for Baekhyun their hearts were racing. Lay could feel that they were getting closer to Baekhyun as the feeling grew stronger. "We're close to Baekhyun. I can tell he's getting weaker by the minute. The urge is growing stronger". Lay said as his hands began to shake. Chen put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. "Hey, we're gonna get him out of here. I promise we'll bring Baekhyun back home. We're one remember?" Chen said encouragingly. Lay nodded feeling nervous. "He's right you know we'll bring Baekhyun back home". Xiao-ping said as they continued walking.

"Look out!" Chen yelled as Lay was suddenly knocked down by one of the guards along with Xiao-ping. Chen watched in horror as the three wrestled around on the ground. Chen struggled to focus on the target as they all three tumbled around, but was cut short when Xiao-ping shot him with a stun gun. Instantly the three stopped wrestling around, both Lay and Xiao-ping threw the guard aside.

"I'm sorry I froze, I was afraid to hurt you guys". Chen apologized. "It's okay you were being safe". Lay stated as he winced. He rose a hand up to his head to see blood smeared on his palm. "Lay-"I know come on let's find Baek". Lay said as he walked ahead.

"Guys I found Baekhyun and he's with one of them and guards". Xiao-ping said as he grabbed their attention. Baekhyun's back was turned towards them and voices could be heard. "What do you think you're doing subject 4?"  They heard the guy ask his voice not happy. They watched as Baekhyun remained quiet. "Seizing the opportunity to escape to my freedom". Baekhyun said

They watched as the guards with the guns raise them up. The guy rose his arm up stopping the guards. "Put the guns down. Subject 4 doesn't oppose as a threat. I got this". The guy said taking a step closer towards Baekhyun. They watched as Baekhyun rose the fire extinguisher at the man.

The guy took a step forwards Baekhyun as Baekhyun threw a light orb his way causing the guy to stumble. The guy looked up shocked. "No, this can't be!" No!" The guy yelled in astonishment. "Baekhyun's getting weak. He's about to fall. Xiao-ping grab the teleportation device and catch Baekhyun. Chen use your power to distract them". Lay demanded.

Xaio-ping hurriedly rushed to Baekhyun's side as he fell activating the teleportation button, watching as lightning struck the guards. Both Baekhyun and Xiao-ping disappeared.

Chen watched as the two guards went down but one remained. "No, this can't be. This wasn't supposed to happen". The guy said looking at the two. Chen was about to strike him with lightning when Chanyeol threw a fireball at him making him perish in ashes. Chen looked over at his friend shocked not expecting what just happened.

"We need to get out of here now. We heard that their might be more people coming as in more backup". Xiumin said as he was breathing heavy. "Xiao-ping is outside waiting for us. He brought Baekhyun to safety with the teleportation device. He's getting weaker as minutes pass". Lay spoke worriedly. All of them nodded running towards the exit that wasn't too far away. They were all on guard in case someone were to come out.

"Guys, I just saw someone behind me. When I looked they disappeared before I could use my power. I can sense that his power is invisibility because I can still sense him lurking upon us". Sehun said breaking the silence his tone uneven. He didn't like enclosed spaces ever since they were all captured. Suddenly Xiumin grabs Sehun by the arm dragging him in front of him. "Stay in front of me no use in you getting hurt. If they are watching us he can strike at anytime".

Before any of them could break through the exit Xiumin felt shooting pain erupt through his stomach. He looked down noticing a red substance soaking his shirt. Xiumin fell to the floor but was caught by Sehun who heard him gasp. Sehun blew wind towards the person throwing him through the brick wall derbies flying everywhere.

"Guys hurry run!" Sehun yelled struggling to hold Xiumin up. D.O helped Sehun who was struggling get through the exit. All of them could feel this pull on their body as they could feel themselves being teleported outside. The sun blinded them as they all stood outside not expecting the brightness.

Lay upon sensing something wrong rushed over to Xiumin's side. "Come on let's go. Both are not in good condition". Lay said as he examined Xiumin's wound. "I'm. . . fine B-Baek needs help more". He stuttered through the pain. Once again they could feel the pull and the rush of wind in their ears as they were teleported back to the house. Lay could feel Baekhyun getting weaker by the minute as he paled.

They landed safely back at the house before nightfall. Sehun lied Xiumin down on the makeshift bed examining his wound. "You're lucky Xiumin that it didn't hit any organs. I should heal you within a few minutes. Hold still okay". Lay said as he lied his hand over the wound. He watched as the wound got smaller and smaller the wound healing until that it was a thin pink line. "Just rest okay. It might be sore for a while, but it's healed". Lay said as he reassured Xiumin who was entirely exhausted. He watched as Xiumin slept peacefully before going to check on Baekhyun.

The feeling of him growing weaker kept getting stronger and stronger as minutes passed making him feel sick to his stomach. He looked at his unconscious friend his heart sinking at the state he was in. He knew that it would be hard coming back after this state, but he knew he couldn't think the worst. Lay had to cure him. If not then he wouldn't forgive himself.

For the umpteenth time Lay tried healing Baekhyun but it was no use as no changes were made. Instead his condition kept getting worse as Lay watched his state deteriorate before his eyes. A tear fell down his cheek as he looked at his best friend. "I'm sorry I failed you Baek. I'm so sorry". Lay said as he let out a soft sob.

Lay walked out into the living room his face stained with dry tears. Sehun, D.O, Suho, Chen, Chanyeol and Xiao-ping all stood upon Lay's arrival. All their hearts stopped at Lay's sullen looking face. They feared the worst as they observed Lay's posture. They awaited the news of their best friend.

"Baekhyun he's. . . Lay hiccuped as he couldn't finish his sentence. "Baekhyun he's. . . he's. . .
