Chapter Twenty Three

Chanyeol shook Baekhyun, but got no response. Everyone circled around him wondering what just happened. "What happened? Is Baekhyun gonna be okay?" Sehun asked worried for his best friend. "I don't know Sehun, but someone needs to contact Lay. Baek's out cold and there's nothing that we can do except wait". Chanyeol responded holding Baekhyun. "I'll move him to his room, but someone contact Lay". Chanyeol demanded. Everyone nodded making way as Chanyeol walked out of the bathroom.

Xiumin tapped his watch sending a message out to Lay as he to watched over Baekhyun. "I just sent a message out to Lay. He should be here soon hopefully". Xiumin said as he looked at Chanyeol who looked worried. "Hey, he's going to be fine Chanyeol". Xiumin reassured him putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. Chanyeol looked at Xiumin giving him a hard glare. "You don't know if he'll be okay hyung. Quit giving out false hope when you yourself don't even know". Chanyeol angrily let out.

Xiumin sighed nodding his head. "You're right Chanyeol, I shouldn't give out false hope. I'm sorry, but that's no way to talk to your hyung. And getting angry won't make things better nor will it help Baekhyun". Xiumin apologized shocked at the way Chanyeol snapped.

Chanyeol could feel the anger growing inside of him. He was tired of his friends getting hurt. He was tired of always being on the run not knowing when they were going to be captured again. Not knowing what the future held scared him and the safety of his best friends. Chanyeol could feel his hands burning, his power awakened inside of him. He shook his head his body growing hotter under the heat. "Please don't say anymore. I'm tired of your fake reassurance when we all know that Baekhyun's life is grim. He's not okay and you expect us to think that everything might be okay? Well let me tell you Xiumin we may never get our best friend back. So quit telling us that everything is going to be okay!" Chanyeol yelled his hands igniting with flames.

Both Chen and Xiumin flinched back in surprise as Chanyeol's power was awakened, his hands covered in fire. "C-Chanyeol calm down. Xiumin didn't mean any harm he was only trying to help. Please calm down". Chen said as he stepped between Xiumin and Chanyeol. Chanyeol shook his head anger getting the best of him.

"Don't you dare tell me to calm down Chen you're no better. Not everything is rainbows and sunshine. This is reality and the reality of this is, Baekhyun may never be the same again. Something is wrong with him and everyone suspects that he'll be fine. Well he isn't and I'm tired of everyone putting false hope in our heads. So don't tell me to calm down!". Chanyeol yelled the flames getting bigger.

Chen slowly walked towards Chanyeol his heart racing like crazy. If he was gonna fight he'd rather fight him then Xiumin. Suddenly a hand gripped his arm causing him to stop. He looked behind him to see Xiumin shaking his head. "Chen don't anger him more. His power is about to lose control and this isn't the place for it to happen". Xiumin warned. Chen slowly nodded shaking off Xiumin's hand.

"Let's talk outside. This isn't the place". Chen reasoned hoping Chanyeol would agree. Chanyeol shook his head. "There's no need for talking. I'll send myself off. Clearly you're being to naive of the situation. And don't follow me". Chanyeol warned walking out of the room.

Kai groggily walked into the room confused as to why Chanyeol's hands were emitting fire. "What's going on?" Kai asked looking at his friends who were shocked. Sehun broke the silence snapping out of his stupor. "I'll go t-talk to him. I know how to handle him". Sehun walked out of the room leaving his friends frozen.

Both Suho and Lay helped D.O sit down on the sofa. "I'll heal you which might feel weird at first. It will only take a few seconds". Lay explained. D.O nodded waiting as he could feel a tingling sensation running through his back. a coolness of a feather light touch ran through his back as he could feel his wounds heal. "There all done. I still advise you to take it easy though". "Thank you Lay and Suho for helping me". D.O thanked them as he truly felt grateful to have friends like them. "You're welcome. That's what friends are for". Both Suho and Lay said in unison.

They were interrupted when Chen came running down the hall. "Something happened to Baekhyun while you were gone. Come quickly hurry". The urgency in Chen's voice scared Lay more than anything. He was fearing the worst.
