Chapter Thirty

"Though memories are gone, the heart remembers".

Lay could feel his body getting weaker as he tried and healed Kai, but the wounds were deeper. His arms shook as he tried his best to heal, but it was time consuming which exhausted him. Lay's eyes felt heavy but forced them open. Kai's wounds weren't half healed, but the bleeding was slowing. Lay could feel that he was losing his energy as he lost his balance falling over.

He felt a pair of strong arms catch him keeping him up right. "Lay, no more. You're exhausted and healing him will make your condition worse". Suho spoke worriedly keeping a tight hold on Lay. "I can't Suho, Kai's wounds aren't healed. I can do this". Lay said with determination. Suho shook his head looking at the condition of his two friends. "Lay, you'll pass out if you continue. You're in no state. And Kai is stable right now, the bleeding has stopped. I don't want you getting weaker". Suho stated expressing his concerns.

Lay glanced at Kai feeling like he failed him. "Fine I'll finish later. But he still needs help". Lay's voice came out weak as he tried fighting the fatigue he felt. He tried shaking it off as Suho became blurry. Suho nodded looking at Lay worriedly noticing how pale he was. "Lay, you okay?"Chen asked stepping closer. Through blurry vision Lay glanced towards Chen. "I'm fine". Lay spoke tiredly.

Chen didn't believe Lay for one second as he examined him more closely. Lay stumbled as he made his way out in the hallway as his vision became blurrier. He grabbed onto the wall for support, but nothing could catch his fall as his world turned black.

Chen who was right behind Lay tried getting to him but it was too late. Lay's head hit the floor rendering him unconscious. "Lay!" Chen yelled kneeling beside him. Chen could see that some blood had appeared on his forehead where his head hit. Chen became worried considering Lay's blood disorder. "Guys some help over here!" Chen yelled.

Both Suho and Sehun came running when they heard Chen's panicked voice. "What is it hyung? What happened?" Sehun asked before Suho could ask. "I went to follow Lay to make sure he was okay, but he fainted before I could catch him. His head is bleeding which concerns me considering his blood disorder". Chen spoke in a rush.

Suho felt guilty as he knew Lay was in bad shape and as the leader he'd take the responsibility. "I'll take care of Lay. Go and keep an eye on Kai. He'll be unconscious due to the drugs Lay have him. Let me know if something changes". Suho picked up Lay and carried him to his room.

Lay hadn't once stirred as Suho attended to his wound. "Why do you do this to yourself Lay? You can't punch your body pass the limit. This is what happens". Suho whispered as he felt guilty.

He felt like he got his friends in this mess. He was supposed to protect them, yet they are getting hurt all because he hasn't kept a closer eye on them. And with the Red Force gaining control left him uneasy and paranoid that they were lurking in the shadows. First Baekhyun and now Lay and with Kai injured he felt like a terrible leader. Their parents were expecting him to take care of them and so far he's broken it three times. Suho sighed running a hand through his hair.

"What kind of leader am I?" He whispered looking up at the moon. A tear escaped as he wished things to go back to the way they were, but that would mean that he wouldn't have met some of his friends. Or the sacrifices that had been made to be who they are. "Hey, don't cry Suho". Sehun said as he walked in seeing his leader crying. Suho looked up wiping at his eyes. "I'm not Sehun. What's up? Is Kai okay?" Suho asked trying to change the topic. Sehun sat down beside Suho and wrapped him in a hug.

"Don't lie hyung I know when you cry, you keep things to yourself which isn't good for your health. And yes Kai is stable he's still asleep. But you're not fine". Sehun said as he looked at his leader. Suho sighed in defeat as he felt the guilt eat him, but he couldn't tell Sehun who was younger. "No need to worry Suhun. I'll be fine. You should rest it's getting late". Suho instructed as he looked at how tired Sehun was.

Sehun brushed it off before a yawn escaped. "Can I sleep in here? Everyone is watching over Kai". Sehun asked. He prayed that Suho would say yes. Suho nodded. "Sure, get some sleep Sehun. I'm gonna watch over Lay and check on Kai soon. But you're more than welcome to sleep here". Suho said patting the mat beside him.

Sehun gladly moved towards it lying down. "Thanks Suho goodnight". Sehun said as he settled down. "Goodnight Sehun". Suho spoke as he watched over the boys praying that nothing else happen.

Baekhyun awoke with a gasp as he jostled awake. He looked to see that he was being carried by D.O. "Please stay away from me. I don't want to hurt you". Baekhyun spoke startling D.O and Xiumin. D.O set him down happy to see him awake. "Baekhyun you won't harm us. And you're fine. How are you feeling?" He asked worried for the younger. Baekhyun looked up his hands shaking with fear taking a step away from the older boys.

"I don't want to hurt you so please don't go near me. I'm dangerous". Baekhyun warned stepping back. He already hurt Kai he didn't need to hurt anyone else. "Baekhyun you won't hurt us. We believe in you that you won't hurt us. You're stronger than that. Don't let what the Red Force did to you win. You can be the controller. Not them". Xiumin reassured.

Guilt took over Baekhyun as he knew he was a monster. His friends were just telling him lies. "B-But I hurt Kai. I could have killed him! And you don't think I am a monster? I'm turning into a monster and there is no stopping it. These visions I hurt people, possibly kill them. How am I not a monster! Baekhyun yelled his anger getting the best of him.

"Baekhyun calm down. You need to stay calm if you don't you'll fuel the dark power. It runs on your anger and fear. It makes your transformation worse". D.O tried to calm him down but it was useless. Baekhyun scoffed. "Calm down? How can I calm down if I could be a murder? Tell me D.O how can I be calm!" Baekhyun yelled his anger fueling him.

Suddenly the dark orb appeared between Baekhyun's hands causing Xiumin and D.O to step back in fear. This was what they feared. Before either of them could react the black orb came directly at them.

A bright light flashed before them as they heard a scream before a sudden figure collapsed to the ground. Both Xiumin and D.O ran towards the fallen figure before their hearts stopped at who it was.
