"The ground hardens after the rain".
—Jongdae (Chen)Kai rolled his eyes shaking his head. "Guys I'm fine". Kai said as he looked up at his worried friends. Kai's usually tan skin was paler than usual. "Clearly you're not okay if Chen doesn't think so. You're paler than usual, you're quiet and not eating. Something is clearly wrong". Lay spoke. Lay put his hand against Kai's forehead frowning when he retracted his hand. "You're warm. How long have you been feeling this way?" Lay asked growing worried. Kai shrugged. "I don't know maybe two days ago". Kai said shrugging it off.
He didn't really think too much of it due to just being tired. "I'll be fine after some rest. For a while we're safe. Unless they are hiding from us and waiting for the right moment. But I don't sense that they are here". Kai answered tiredly.
"When we get back to the house you can rest. But if you feel worse let us know. We'll keep an eye out for them". Suho directed. Kai nodded not liking the idea of being bed ridden. But it was better than fighting. "Looks like we're gonna have to hold off on that dance battle a little longer". Kai stated bitterly.
Both were in neither condition to dance battle, but when they weren't training they were killing it on the dance floor. Lay smiled a smirk coming to his lips. "It's okay another day Kai when we're all good and the Red Force is no longer a threat. We need to focus more on our surroundings and be on guard rather than thinking of dancing". Lay reasoned.
Kai knew he was right but dancing was more fun to do than battling it out to one's death. The Red Force had something planned and they better must be ready. Even if they didn't know what they were planning, the knew they had to be the stronger ones.
Baekhyun was listening to his friends talk wishing he could join them. But he knew that he didn't trust himself to speak. He couldn't push his weak body to do much. He wasn't healed and his best friend couldn't cure him. He wanted to be cured from whatever the Red Force did, but he did know that he wasn't the same person before.
Inside he felt like a piece was missing from within him. After the attack he knew he would never be the same Baekhyun as before that his friends knew and loved dearly. Every little sound scared him bringing back memories of being held down while the red orb did whatever it was to him. But he knew that red orb was an important thing that changed his life forever and him.
After the orb attached him he felt as if something was being taken away from him, that was a part of who he was.
Baekhyun stopped walking a gasp escaping past his parched lips. Everyone stopped to look at Baekhyun who was frozen in place. His hands shook freely in front of his face, a panic look in his eyes.
"Baek what is it? Are you hurt?" Sehun asked shaking the boy slightly. Baekhyun stares blankly at his hands. He knew what they did and it physically made him sick. "Baek say something anything". Chanyeol stepped in front of the smaller boy looking him in the eye. His tone was soft yet gentle to where Baekhyun knew he was safe for now,
Baekhyun looked to his friends feeling his heart sink. He had to tell them. And it would shatter them to bits.
"M-My. . . power it's. . . g-gone. They t-took it". Baekhyun's voice came out hoarse and raspy since he hadn't spoken in four days.
That concludes the end of chapter eighteen. It's a little longer than the last few chapters. I felt that this chapter was a lot easier to write than the last few. Were any of you expecting the Red Force to take away Baekhyun's "light power?" What do you think they are going to do with it? Which was your favorite part of this chapter? I love reading your comments. Thank you to everyone who is reading this and giving it a chance. It means a lot to me that you all are reading this piece of work. Don't forget to vote.
Until next time, don't forget to stay awesome 🙂
