Chapter Sixteen

"Make memories you know you'll never forget".

Kai stirred in his sleep when he heard the door creak open. Xiumin tiptoed in as he seen that Kai was still asleep. Xiumin noticed that his normal tan skin was unnaturally pale under the sun. He shook the boy earning a groan from the younger. Kai squinted up at his friend confused as to why he was woken up.

"Everyone is going to the forest and Suho is wanting us to work on our powers. We're going to a more remote place to work on them so we can prepare in case we have to fight the Red Force. He wants us to be prepared and on our guard. Come on everyone is waiting". Xiumin said patting Kai on the back. Kai nodded throwing the covers aside. A wave of dizziness washed over him but he ignored it.

"Oh, eat this on the way. Suho wanted you to eat something". Xiumin handed Kai the energy bar as they walked into the living room. "Thanks". Kai said still half asleep. Xiumin patted him on the back. "Don't thank me thank Suho".

Everybody was already on the front porch waiting for them. "Alright let's go". Suho said with a clap of his hand. Kai stuffed the energy bar in his pocket still not hungry. "Hey, Kai you better eat that since you didn't eat breakfast". Suho said as he looked behind him. Kai sighed taking the energy bar out if his pocket. "I saw you putting it in your pocket. Do you not have an appetite?" Suho asked growing worried. It was a chocolate bar which was one of Kai's favorite foods besides chicken. Kai shook his head. "No, not really but I'll eat it". Kai said quietly. He unraveled the the wrapper and nibbled on the already melted chocolate. "Hey, don't force yourself to eat if you aren't hungry". Sehun said as they walked.

Xiumin observed Kai more as they walked to their destination. Kai was paler than usual and less talkative which concerned him. His conclusion was that maybe he was sick or tired.

"Baekhyun why don't you sit this one out since your strength isn't fully back yet. You can be the observer and write down what we need to work on. We'll split into two groups and battle to test our strength and weaknesses". Suho explained.

Chen and Xiumin were the first ones to battle it out. Both of them circled each other waiting to strike. Chen sent a lightning bolt at Xiumin who just barely dodged it. "Hey, that was a little too close". Xiumin said dusting the dirt off him. "Sorry about that. But if this were a real battle you would have been badly hurt. Focus more on your surroundings. Besides I'm not even at my max power". Chen explained as he noticed Xiumin was distracted. Xiumin nodded taking his friends advice.

Chen shook the ground as he kneeled down and a lightning strike hit beside him. Xiumin threw an ice sickle narrowly missing Chen as he was taken off guard. But still he stood his ground by throwing yet another bolt sending Xiumin backwards as the ground rumbled.

"Okay next Chanyeol you'll be on your own. You've struggled with your power so you'd be in most danger of our powers". Suho said. Chanyeol stood up from the log he was sitting on and walked towards where Suho was.

Chanyeol concentrated at the center of his palm but no flames appeared. He tried again but nothing happened. Chanyeol sighed shaking his head. Suho put a hand on his shoulder giving him a sad smile. "It's okay you'll get it soon. Try again soon maybe it will work then".
