Chapter Twenty Two

"In the deep silence, on the sad melody I faintly hear my beautiful black pearl".

(The fake tattoo on Baekhyun's hand represents his power of "light". It's a key part to the story).

The guys paced back and forth as they haven't heard anything from D.O. He should have been back by now. "D.O should be back by now. What if something happened to him?" Sehun asked stress mixed in his tone. "I'll go look for him. Suho you come along with me. You guys stay here in case he comes back". Lay reassured them. Suho nodded before following Lay. "Call us if you hear anything". Suho said pointing to everyone. They nodded. "Stay safe". Chen called out as he heard the door close.

Both Suho and Lay look around for D.O hollering his name. But silence only answers them back. "Where can he be? His signal is strong and it looks like he is close". Suho said looking at his watch. D.O's signal was vibrant which was a good sign, but where was he?

"He's close but he isn't answering either. Do you think the Red Force got to him before we could?" Suho asked fearing the worst. Lay sighed looking around. "You said that his signal is strong which is good. But seeing that D.O isn't around is concerning. We're gonna find him. I promise that we'll find him and bring him to safety". Lay reassured Suho who was thinking the worst. Suho nodded looking around the beaten path.

As Suho looked around when all of a sudden a black figure caught his attention. There lying about a hundred feet away lied a familiar figure. He would recognize that black jacket anywhere. "Lay look over there. Isn't that D.O?" Suho got Lay's attention by pointing. Lay looked where Suho was pointing his eyes getting bigger. "D.O!" Suho yelled running towards the figure.

D.O groaned in pain at the sound of his name. Slowly he sat up regretting it instantly. "D.O what happened? Are you okay?" Suho asked crouching beside him. D.O looked at his friends a grimace on his face. "Hey, take it easy. Try not to move too much. What happened?". Lay asked while looking over his injuries.

"I was on my way back from the store to bring Kai some medicine for his fever since he's prone to fevers. I kept getting this feeling that I was being watched. I turned around not seeing anyone. But then the air changed and next second I was lying on my back with someone's foot on my chest. This guy appeared out of nowhere. He kept asking where the others were meaning you guys, but I told him I was by myself. And I would never portray you like that. So he fought me as my punishment. I couldn't fight him off because he was stronger than me. But what caught me off guard was that he wasn't part of the Red Force. He didn't have a red eye". D.O explained before he'd forget the information.

"Are you hurt badly though? Then if he wasn't part of the Red Force then who was he working for?" Suho asked. D.O shook his head. "I'm not sure. But I have a haunch that he disguised himself as someone else to cover up that he was part of the Red Force. That person could be working undercover for them. And to answer your question I'm fine. I just bruised my back is all". D.O said as he looks at the ground.

"When we get to the house I'll heal you. But for now let's get you home". Lay insisted. Both Lay and Suho help D.O up. "Can one of you grab Kai's medicine?" D.O asked. Suho nodded. "Yeah, sure". Suho said as he let go of D.O's arm.

While Baekhyun was eating the pain worsened. He bit his lip while trying not to yelp in pain. He stood up running for the bathroom. "Hey, Baek where are you going?" Chanyeol yelled out. "The bathroom!". He yelled not looking back. His body ached all over, sweat forming on his face. He closed the bathroom door locking it before sliding down to the floor. Baekhyun looked down towards his shaking hands noticing a black line forming around his fingers before slithering away before forming into a dark black light. The black orb got bigger before slowly growing smaller before it disappeared. But the black line lingers on his skin like a tattoo.

"W-What's happening to m-me?" Baekhyun whispered out weakly. He blankly stared at his hands the pain intensifying. He bit back the screams as the pain worsened, the light now getting brighter. On top of his right hand he watched in horror as a tattoo formed on his hand, the emblem resembling light.

As the pain intensified Baekhyun let out a yell as the light grew brighter and bigger before all the lights went out. He let out a yell of pain before his world turned black.

Chanyeol ran towards the yell banging on the bathroom door. "Baekhyun are you okay in there?" Chanyeol yelled banging on the door. Silence ensued as their was no response. He tried the bathroom door but to his surprise it was locked. Chanyeol took out a pin to unlock the door. Upon hearing it click he opened the door to find a shocking sight.

There on the floor lied Baekhyun unconscious.

"Baekhyun!" Chanyeol yelled rushing over towards his friend.
