Beacon Of Light

Chapter Six

Lay seemed to be walking for what felt like hours. Every muscle hurt and he didn't know which way was which due to the dense forest. Light was limited and his watch was glitching which meant no message could go through. "Stupid watch". He muttered trudging through the thick brush. He kept tapping his watch but the watch was black with no sign of life.

Lay kept walking in circles trying to find anything familiar but there was no light to guide him. Now he regrets ever going to cool off because now he was lost in the wilderness. "Why did I have to be so stupid?" He cursed at himself. In the distance he heard a twig break causing him to stop. Lay turned around but found nothing. Just as he was about to walk another twig broke followed by voices.

Suddenly ice crystals were thrown at him narrowly missing him. Lay broke out in a sprint in hopes of getting away by whoever tried to harm him. Without the help of his friends or anyway to contact them he felt at a loss. Lay put up his shield in hopes of nothing penetrating through it. He didn't know how long he could use his shield. His strength wasn't at its peak.

"Why don't you just surrender like you're supposed to. No harm will come to you. We just need to ask you a few questions Lay". Lay knew better than to stop and talk to them. And they did mean to harm them. They were experiments of EXO Planet, puppets if you will. But enough was enough so they broke out and seek refuge on earth from according to their master. Somehow some way the Red Force found them and injured one of his friends.

Lay was scared which only made him push his body harder in order to seek safety. "Come on Lay don't make this harder than it has to be. You see one of your careless friends killed one of our own, so it's in our power to hunt all you down and bring you guys with us. After all you're escapees and clearly wanted. So it's in our hands to bring you back. Now are you going to corporate or you doing this the hard way?" The guy asked clearly unhappy.

Lay froze still upon hearing that one of his friends killed one of the Red Force. "You're nothing but a number, an experiment on EXO Planet. What makes you think you belong on Earth?" He threatened. Lay scoffed memories flooding back as he recalled what happened.

"You mean torturing us until we were unconscious yelling nonsense saying we were from the dark side when clearly we weren't. You guys were the bad ones. We're just civilians living our lives until you invaded our homeland. You people embraced our world with darkness, made things scarce for people. And you call us the bad guys. You separated us from our families, ripped our lives apart to build this army that some of us were failed experiments. And for what? Look what you made people into. Monsters as people would say, but you know what you people are the real monsters. You've torn lives apart and yet you guys only see this as some sick game". Lay yelled.

Bitter laughs could be heard but soon abruptly stopped. "You yourself Lay, are also a failed experiment just as I was once like you. But over time the dark magic appeared inside of me growing gradually. I see great potential as you'd make a great leader of the Red Force someday". The guy appeared in front of Lay. Lay would never betray his friends like that since they were practically his family.

"I'll never become one of you. I won't betray my friends like that. We are one and always will be". Lay said while looking into the guys menacing eyes. "You have no idea how powerful you are Lay. You'd be a good asset to us. Think about all the power you can have with just one snap of your fingers. You can have everything you've ever dreamed of. Think about it".

Lay shook his head. "I don't want a luxurious life. And I sure as hell won't become one of you. I already have what I want. I have eight brothers who care about me who are my family. You will never become my family. Because at the end of the day I'm not a puppet on a string". Lay fumed.

"Why you little sh**. You'll regret that decision once we're done with you". The guy threatened. Lay was blindsided by a strike of lightning followed by a crack of thunder. The guy hit Lay as he could feel himself being airborne. The guys strength was so powerful that his power equals super strength. Lay yelled out in pain as his back collided with the tree the sound echoing in the night.

Another blast of lightning hit nearby followed by thunder soon after. The Red Force scrambled to their feet as they were knocked down by lightning. "They're here sir. What do you want us to do?" One guy panicked. The leader looked at the sky a evil smirk appearing. "We fight".
