Chapter 25

She cried for over an hour as I tried to calm her down.

"We can stop it right?! Please, tell me that we can stop it?!!" She begged me as she fisted my shirt in her powerful little hands.

"Yes, we can. Like I said if we get your magic as strong as it needs to be then it won't happen."

Taking a deep breath, she steeled herself. "Tell me what I need to do."

That's my woman, dedicated and fiercely determined, especially where my safety, health and wellbeing are concerned. Her determination did not shock me in the least she had always been this determined to keep me safe, happy and healthy. Just as I was to do the same for her.

I told her everything that she needed to know, do and practice. Before the attack in order to prevent the need for a rescue mission.

"What will we do about the injured?"

"Addie is a spirit user and he followed us back to the academy. And ever since then he has been practicing with Lissa to learn how to heal. But you haven't been getting her darkness because Addie charmed your promise ring to completely block her. His getting her to teach him to heal is one of the reasons that he followed us back here. And once he knows what he is doing he will teach you. I told your father how to restore a strigoi when I met him the first time in this timeline. Soon afterwards he found another spirit user, and few weeks after that they set out to find and restore Sonya Karp, who is also a spirit user. We are hoping that they get it done before the attack. If Daniel, the spirit user that your father found, stays on campus. That will give us Daniel, Addie, Sonya and you to heal our people. Because I seriously doubt that selfish little suka, Vasilissa Dragomir will be willing to volunteer to help." (bitch)

"It is just so hard and sad to see the way she has turned out."

"I know my love I know, and I am so sorry that this has happened."

"It's not your fault Mitya. So, tell me when do I get to meet my father in person?"

"When you are ready tell me and I will let him know. Or you can tell him yourself the two of you get along so well."

"No, for some reason I would just prefer it if you talked to him about this. I don't know why though so please don't ask me to explain it to you because I can't. Can he be here for dinner tomorrow night?"

"I understand, and I will find out."

I text Abe and told him that Roza wanted him to come to dinner tomorrow night. His answer was a quick and expected one he would be here at 7:00 pm.

Roza read his message and smiled.

We talked a little while longer before she asked me. "When will Addie start teaching me to heal?"

"If you feel up to it you can start a week from this Monday."

"I do."

"Good. Then I'll be sure to let him know."

"Thank you."

"Of course, my love."

The next night when Abe came to dinner Roza told him her idea about dealing with the strigoi. And I told him that Sydney was the best person to contact. So, he made a few calls and got her transferred to St. Vladimir's.

Abe told the alchemists that with Syd's help we intended to bring about not only the destruction of the strigoi. But that we also plan to create a serum that would prevent moroi and dhampir from ever being turned in the future.

The serum would work even if the moroi tried to turn on purpose by draining someone. Because if that happened a component in the serum would kick in and that moroi would die themselves. Before their victim lost enough blood to die which would also save the life of the victim.
