Chapter 34

The day before the assembly I found out that Abe had sent for my family, as well as Mark and Oksana. So that they could be there when Roza and I were properly introduced to our world.

So that night we all got together and Roza and I told them about our idea of the rings. Oksana said that she would gladly charm the rings for the Russian part of our family. Addie said that he would be glad to teach Roza to charm rings, so she could also recharge her promise ring when she needed to. And Sonya agreed to help with the ring charming.

After spirit not being heard of for hundreds of years. We suddenly had three spirit users plus Roza being able to use spirit as well. If Daniel decided to return to our circle after meeting with his family. Then when we got to court we would have the largest group of spirit users in one place in who knows how long.

Roza and I sat there and designed a ring that everyone would wear. They would be made of charmed silver, or course. With a flat top where crisscrossed long stem roses would be engraved. On all four sides of the ring head would be the wearers birthstone. Down the band portion of the ring would be rose vines, which ran up to the top of the ring and wound around the entire border of the flat top around the roses. When we showed them to everyone they seemed to like them quite a lot.

Abe said that he would e-mail the picture along with a list of stones and sizes to a jewelry designer that he used at court. And when they were ready he would go after them himself. He said it shouldn't take but a few days to a week to get them all done. That way my family Oksana and Mark would have theirs before they had to return to Russia.

The very next day Roza and I were sequestered with our guardians, who were to flank us as we walked to the dais, in the dressing room area of the meeting hall. With a monitor so that we could see what was happening out front.

We watched as Queen Tatiana walked up to the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen moroi and dhampir. Today is a momentous occasion in our society. As you all know the Badica family, as well as the Ivashkov's, the Conta's and the Szelsky's all acknowledge three generations out of their dhampir children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as royals to our lines. Today we are blessed enough to have two of those grandchildren present, both of whom are about to be crowned as princess and prince to two of these very distinguished lines."

There was applause throughout the room. However, there were some of the royal families that did not agree to this way of looking at things, so they were not a part of those applauding. The Zeklos's being the most vocal against this idea.

Then there were the Drazdov's and the Dashkov's they all claimed to see no sense in having dhampir royals. That dhampir were not worthy enough to be royals, as they continued to say.

Their opinion was that if a line was dying out then it should be allowed to die out with dignity before dhampir were allowed to tarnish it by being royals. Which, in my opinion was just fucking ignorant and stupid on their part.

"I call for, the soon to be crowned Princess Rosemarie Marisol Esmeray Hathaway Mazur Badica, and the also soon to be crowned Prince Dimitri Aleksander Roman Belikov Ivashkov to come forward please."

The music started and Roza and I walked toward the dais arm in arm. Once we stood next to Tatiana she began speaking again.

"I don't doubt that most if not all of you already know Rose and Dimitri. They have done wonderful things for our world already. As you all know there was an attack here a few weeks ago. Thanks to the early warning that Rose received from the spirit of André Dragomir. Which she could only see and hear because she is shadow kissed. There were far less casualties and injuries than there would have otherwise been. Although there were no moroi that were injured we did however and unfortunately loose eleven guardians. But if it hadn't been for both Rose and Dimitri then everyone on campus could have either been killed or turned. Every living soul on this campus, at the time, could have been slaughtered."
