A few minutes later she sent a column of fire throughout the caves. Again, before letting it go she waited until it shot out the other side. Since the heat from the blast of sunlight had already burned the surrounding vegetation there was no fire for her to put out this time.

But this time she did collapse into my arms. "Roza!!"

She smiled weakly. "I'm fine just a little tired and thirsty." This time it was Celeste that handed her another bottle of water.

I didn't like Roza using so much energy, but I had no say in the matter. My woman was one of the most hard-headed and strong willed people that I had ever met.

Sometimes it worked well for her, at other times it worked well for other people but not so much for her. And sometimes it worked out well for both and then there were the times that it didn't work for anyone. Granted those times were very few and very far between.

Most of the time her stubbornness worked more for whoever it was that she was trying to protect than it did for herself. But that was just because she'd never put herself first. She'd always put everyone else ahead of herself. My Roza is truly the most selfless person that I have ever known.

"Did you get the rest of them that time my love?"

"Almost, there are still a few of them in there."

"Could you tell exactly how many of them were in there to begin with?"

"348."

My God, in less than an hour she will have killed almost another three hundred and fifty strigoi. But there was no way she could get that many molniya marks all at once, that many would take weeks if not a month or more to get. Unless there are other marks that we don't know about for higher groups of kills. Or I guess she could get yet another Zvezda mark with the number 348 in the heart of the star.

"When you get ready I'm right here with you babe."

Again, she repeated one of her last two energy draining activities. By sending strike after strike of lightening throughout the caves. Afterwards I again sat on the ground holding her.

"I got the last remaining few that time Mitya."

"That's good baby that's really really good."

"Now I just need to collapse and solidify the mountain."

"Babe, maybe you should just rest. You can collapse and solidify the caves another day."

I was really worried. This was all new to me because this hadn't happened in my timeline. So, I didn't know what to expect or how to react. And it seemed to me that it was taking an awful lot of strength, energy and power to do this. Which also had me extremely worried.

I knew that when moroi used more magic than normal. It was very taxing and tiring on their systems. It also took some of them days to recover. And as far as I knew none of them had ever used as much power, energy, strength and magic as my Roza had already used. I just had to trust in her and her ability to know what she was doing and what she could tolerate. And hope that this didn't come back to bite her in the ass.

As far as I knew my memories ended with the attack. Since I hadn't been here after the rescue mission the last time. I didn't know how much if any of what happened at court would repeat itself. Or even how it could without me being turned and restored. Unless it happened to Sonya or someone else that had been restored. But then it couldn't happen to Sonya either since she and Mikhail were already back together. They'd had the type of reunion that my Roza and I should have had in my previous timeline. A lot of my memories from my timeline had already started disappearing but I did still remember that much.
