The two shadows stood by the doctor and a woman that is talking outside Abby's  hospital room, they looked on as Abby lay still, her head bandaged and her eyes as less puffy but her left cheeks still shows a purplish bruise mark,

"I don't understand... you told us that everything is alright, that she should be waking up soon, it has been 3 days but she is not waking up"

"which is why she is still under observation... usually patients that had undergo such accidents if their vitals reached a recovery threshold, the body's response is to wake up, but she seems to be in a state of coma right now"

"Do everything that you can... I want my daughter back.." the older woman almost begged,

"We will, she is perfectly fine physically we are not sure on why she isn't waking up yet" as the doctor reassured the woman, the two shadows looked at each other,  one of them nodded and they slowly disappeared into thin air, leaving the woman, who then sighed as she began to walk away, the memories flooding through her, hitting her hard, the guilt on what she did weighing her down making her steps slow and heavy

"Dad... please... I have nowhere else to go" Abby had begged them, she had knelt down on the cold hard floor , pulling on her dads' pants

" Consequences Abby, all your actions have consequences" her husband said as he pulled his pants off her clutches " I don't have a filthy daughter like you" her husband said as he walked away

"Mom...mommy .." she called to her almost shakily , crawling on all fours and reaching towards her, she kept her tears at bay as she remembered her as a little girl crawling towards her when she is just a baby " .. please... please.. "

"Leave this house.. you will only carry the bag outside the door and nothing else" she had said as she turned her back away from her, leaving her only daughter behind , she had watched as she wiped her tears and composed herself, her nanny rushing to her side, they cried and hugged each other for a long time before they parted.

She had always watched her from afar, helping her in ways that she would not know, unknown to Abby she has been paying half the fee for her apartment every month, she had even bribed the landlord not to tell, she had also called on a favor so that Abby can get a decent job without a college degree, and had invested on Jane's loan business at her office so that if she ran short on cash she would always get some..

At her granddaughter's school she had even sponsored their pantry so that the students can get free lunch she had an agreement with them that they would always do this as long as the school board would not reveal her name as a benefactor, so that her grand daughter will not go hungry, it had broken her heart when she saw her eating just a sandwich and water.

and when her husband had died, she had done all that she can but her daughter still felt that she had a hard life, that she is still struggling, lonely and depressed, she knew that if Abby does not have Belle, she would have ended her life, she is her strength and her weakness, Abby is not used to having a hard life, her heart shattered when she had received the report that she had an accident, that she was in a hurry, not noticing the incoming car, it took them hours to convince her granddaughter that her mom had met an accident, she had cried and cried until she had slept on it and yet she refused to open the door for them, the police and social workers have to step in and for the first time in her life she had used her influence and money to ensure that the social workers won't sue Abby and that she will serve as her grand daughters' guardian if Abby would not wake up anymore, the last thought she had erased in her mind..

it took her a while to get to earn her granddaughter's trust but once she got used to her, the first thing that they did is visit a toy store, she told her grand daughter that she can get any toys that she wanted but she just took one  doll and with a smile she told her that it was all that she ever wanted but her mom is still saving up for it, she looked at the price of the doll, it's just 35 dollars, she did not even notice that a tear had fell off her eyes, her grand daughter gingerly returning the doll "' I'm sorry grandma... mum did say it was expensive" she had said when she gave out a small smile and put the doll back and pat its head, recovering quickly, she took the doll and bought it for her, Belle wanted to hold the doll and refused to have it wrapped in a bag, now she is sleeping with the doll, she found herself wishing and longing for her daughter that she had lost , A lot of guilt weighing in in her , If she just let her stayed home, if she had lowered her pride, but none of those regrets matter anymore she found herself wishing for Abby  to wake up and this time she would truly take her back home... "please baby wake up now... mommy misses you" she said as she began to cry in her sleep
