You and Me (Sequel to Back to You)

Chapter 5

Meanwhile on the ship, Tony was observing the scene below where Dr. Strange was being tortured for the time stone when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, ready to attack until he realized that it was only Dr. Strange's cape.

"You are a really loyal piece of clothing."

"Uh speaking of loyal." Peter chimed in, coming down on his web.

"What are you doing here? I told you to go home."

"I was but it was such a far way down and you gave me this suit, which is awesome by the way. So if anything, this is your fault that I'm here."

"What did you just say?"

"I take that back."

"This is a one way ticket. It's not like Germany or Coney Island. You couldn't have possibly have thought this through."

"I did."

"Sure kid. What do you take of this situation?"

Peter looked down and thought for a minute.

"Have you seen this really old movie Aliens?"

A few minutes later, Tony jumps down and blasts a hole in the side of the ship. Ebony Maw gets sucked out and Peter grabs Dr. Strange and holds on. Four mechanical legs shoot out of the suit, helping Peter keep his grip until Tony covers the hole. 

Dr. Strange starts walking to the controls, trying to figure them out.

"We need to turn this ship around."

"So now you want to run." Tony says.

"I'm just protecting the stone."

"Yeah, well, I'm still waiting on a thank you for saving your magical butt."

"For what? You almost shot me into space."

"I'm still waiting for that thank you but change of subject, we wouldn't even be in this flying donut of a spaceship without backup if it wasn't for you."

"I'm backup." Peter chimed in, raising his hand.

"No, you're a stowaway. The adults are talking."

"What is he, your ward?"

"No. I'm Peter by the way."

"Dr. Strange."

"Oh, so we're using our made up names. Then I am Spider-Man."

"This thing's on autopilot." Tony said.

"Then we can change it and go home right?" 

After Tony doesn't answer, Dr. Strange calls out his name.

"Oh, what? Yeah, I don't think we should go back."

"Tony, Thanos can't get the time stone."

"No, I don't think you understand. This is the same guy who's been in my head for the past 6 years since the Battle of New York. You've seen his army. If we fight him on his turf, he won't expect it."

"Fine but if it comes down to it, I will not hesitate to sacrifice you or the kid to keep the time stone safe."

Tony walks over to Peter.

"Alright kid." Tony does a knighting gesture with his hand. "You're an avenger now."

Peter stands there and smiles, proud that he finally made it as an avenger.
