"So I thought I'd probably better record a little greeting... In the case of an untimely death on my part. Not that, death in any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow, it's... it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. But then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. Uh, what am I even trippin' for? Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to." Tony hologram leans down towards Caroline and Morgan.
"I love you both 3,000."
After the service and Pepper placing the flowers and Tony's old arc reactor on the lake, Caroline sat on the dock in her dress, looking out at the water.
"Hey." Peter said, walking up to her and sitting next to her.
"Hey." Caroline said quietly.
"How are you holding up? I know how hard this can be."
"Everything's just overwhelming. We were gone five years and we come back and suddenly Thor has a beer belly and a long beard, Steve can hold Thor's hammer, Bruce and the Hulk are one now, Natasha's dead, I have a sister and on top of that my dad died right in front of us. I just want things to go back to simpler times." Caroline said, tears welling up in her eyes again.
"I know. I know." Peter said, pulling Caroline towards him. Caroline laid her head on his shoulder.
"I'm so rude. How are you handling it? I know you two were close before I moved back to New York."
"To be honest it hurts. Brings back memories of how I felt after losing uncle Ben."
"I'm here if you need it."
"The same goes for you Caroline."
The two sat quietly, wrapped up in their own thoughts, as they looked at the lake.
