Chapter 5 - an empty land

Mina and her personal bodyguard (Nayeon) went to the Son Kingdom by horse. Both of them wear citizen attire and a farmer hat. Mina got this brilliant idea from Chaeyoung to hide their face so people won't notice, and avoiding sunlight is also one of the advantages.

[at the Son Kingdom]

As previously Mina bought the strawberry from the town, so she planned to ask the seller that she bought it from, slowly walking down the street while holding the horse rope. As soon as they arrived near the fruit stall, Nayeon takes care both of the horses while Mina approaches the seller.

"Good afternoon, how are you doing?" Mina slightly lifts her hat.

"Omo! It's an honour to see you again, my lady" The seller covers her mouth, surprised.

"Calm down, Hahah, I want to ask something regarding the strawberry" Mina pulled out her book.

"Ooh, ㅋㅋㅋ, it's an honour to be asked from—" The seller laughs, "Oops, ask me, my lady"

"Hahah, I planted strawberry and it has been 2 months and currently there is a flower growing on them, I never planted a strawberry before, perhaps you could tell me in detail?"

Mina write everything what the seller said on the book

Strawberry life span: 5-6 years
(notes: after 3 productive years, they will start to lose vigour -> production decline, start to weakens and will succumb to fungi or other environmental pathogens)

Can cut several runners from the mother plant, no more than 4 runners (To keep the nutrients balanced)

Chemical fertilizer with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (but not too much -> could cause excess vegetative production and fewer berries)

Keep the soil in good drainage and air circulation, do protect the plant from pests, fungi or bigger pests like birds.

Mina smiled, "Thank you very much emm—, may i know your name?"

"Minatozaki Sana or you can call me Sana, my lady"

"Alright, thanky—"

"Watch out!" Nayeon voice was heard from afar.

Mina was quick enough to hold her body steady, if not, both of them will fall down, the person who bumped into her, gripped onto her clothes before falling into her arm.

They only stare at each other blankly since their mind is still proccessing what just happened.

C-c-chaeyoung!? Oh my god, why we bump into each other again?
Mina's mind is back, pulls chaeyoung to help her stand properly.

"M-mina? w-what are you doing here?" Chaeyoung as surprised as her, lowkey wanna scream.

"N-nothing I'm just wandering around"

Chaeyoung jump and hugs her, "I miss you so muchh! Mina-ya"

Mina awkwardly laughs as she embarrassed at the hug, "Ahahah, Chaeyoung," she whispers, "we are in disguise"

"Oh ya" Chaeyoung break the hug.

"Princess Mina, are you okay?" Nayeon said in concern while holding the rope of two horses behind her.

"I'm fine Nayeon, she is someone i know" Mina give her a reassuring smile.

"Alright, won't disturb both of you" Nayeon walks away.

"sorry Chae, I think I'm going back soon"

"You should stay for a while Mina, don't leave, pleaseee" Chaeyoung whining while swinging around Mina's arm.

"I'm sorry Chae, but—"

"Pleaseeee" Chaeyoung whines again.

"..." Mina frowns, holding her smile so hard, couldn't bear Chaeyoung whining to her, "Alright, alright, i will stay a little longer"

"Hehehe" Chaeyoung chuckles happily and start to pull Mina by hand.

"wait here for a while"

Mina runs to Nayeon, "I will be back for few hours"

"do you bring the sky-signal?" Nayeon asked.

"of course i do"

"i will be here waiting for you, be safe princess"

Mina runs back and Chaeyoung pulled her hand while having a wide smile on her face.

"where are you taking me to?" Mina curiously asked.

"an empty land!" :D

Empty land??

[somewhere near the palace]

"It's indeed an empty land" Mina looking at the scenery of wild grass.

"Come" Chaeyoung entered a small house at the empty land.

Mina follows where she goes, "an empty house too"

Chaeyoung chuckles and sit, relaxing on the floor, "But it was full of memories"

"Hmm?" Mina joining Chaeyoung, sitting on the floor.

"I used to follow my mom here, when i was small, this house was the storage for the gardening equipment"

"..." Mina surprised at what chaeyoung said.

So this place used to be her mom garden.

"I always come here, whenever i miss my mom" Chaeyoung formed a weak smile.

Hmmm, as a friend, I should be comforting her right now... I never had a friend before
How do people comfort other people?

"Eh?" Mina confused as she looks at Chaeyoung who is currently hugging her.

"Let me stay like this for a while, i never hug someone before besides my mom" "It's like a nostalgia" Chaeyoung closing her eyes.

"o-okayyyy"

Mina unconsiously smiled while looking at Chaeyoung beside her, who is hugging her like a baby, "cute" Mina blurted making her immediately cover her mouth, and her blood starts to rush to her cheeks while Chaeyoung moved back from the hug.

Chaeyoung smiled softly, "you too"

A bomb was thrown in Mina's heart, she totally turned her face with those obvious redden cheeks, avoiding eye-contact with Chaeyoung.

"but you are more beautiful rather than cute" Chae continue the previous word.

"..." Mina turns mute, while Chaeyoung is smiling right there.

The atmosphere is getting quiet and awkward, but it was weird for them, rather than getting tense from it, instead both felt pleasurably nice.

Oh, I almost forgot! Nayeon is waiting for me

"I'm sorry Chaeyoung, I think i need to go back soon"

"so fast... alright, let me—"

Mina put a strawberry in her mouth, "bye-bye, ttalgi gongju" smiled and left the house.

Ttalgi gong ju?

Chaeyoung happily munching the strawberry as she watches her leave.

Never thought i could be ttalgi gong ju ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

What nickname should i give her? beautiful penguin?
