Chapter 9 - peaceful land

"so... I really did bump into Chaeyoung,"

Nayeon chuckles, "ㅋㅋㅋ, i think she was destined to be your friend, enjoy your bonding time, princess"

"Maybe? ㅋㅋㅋ, bye! see you later" Mina walk back to the fruit stall.

"Please accept my tokens, i don't accept no as an answer, do eat well for the child sake" Chaeyoung gave Sana a silk pouch full of gold and silver coins.

"Omo! I'm must be very lucky to be your secret friend, hahah" "and here is your package, princess" Sana hand out a basket.

"Thank you as usual" Chaeyoung smiled and took the small basket that filled with strawberries and few grapes.

Mina came, "Chaeyoung, do you still want to go there? if not i will go back"

Chaeyoung delighted, "Yes, of course, Let's go!"  "bye Jeong bye Sana!"

Jeongyeon and Sana waved their hands, "bye! take care you two!" Mina smiled and waved back.

Chaeyoung swinging the basket as they stroll through the street near the empty land, "what is that?" Mina asked.

"this?" Chae lifts up the basket.

"yes,"

"i bought this from Sana, every week i visit her once just for this,"

"ooh," Mina chuckles.

"ㅋㅋㅋ" Chaeyoung place the basket on the wooden floor, they take off their hat, and sit by the doorway, gazing at the empty land.

"uhm,, do you miss your mom?" Mina sitting beside her.

"every day" Chae only smiled at the empty lawn.

"does spending time here will comfort you?" Mina asked.

"It does" Chaeyoung open the basket, and took a strawberry, "open your mouth, Aaa" she offered a strawberry to Mina.

"I can take it myself" Mina's hands go toward the basket.

"yah! Just open your mouth," The strawberry is in front of Mina's face.

Mina blankly opens her mouth and eat the strawberry, "Thanks..."

Chaeyoung chuckles, "welcome,"

They both fall into silence, doing nothing besides looking blankly in front of them, they could hear the birds chirping and could feel the cold breeze blewing around.

This place is so peaceful

Chaeyoung rest her head on Mina's shoulder, "so peaceful isn't it?"

She could read my mind?
"It is..." said Mina.

"Good night" Chaeyoung jokes on sleeping.

"Eh, eh, my shoulders is not a pillow" Mina shakes her shoulders, that makes Chaeyoung hug Mina's arm so her head won't fall down, "ㅋㅋㅋ, I'm just kidding"

Mina felt ticklish because she almost never touched anybody or do any skinship, Chaeyoung is the only one who ever get close to her besides her families but since small she doesn't really do any skinship like what Chaeyoung did, like keep dragging Mina somewhere by holding her hands, random hug, random cheeks kisses. Mina felt a little bit uneasy but she still keeps Chae on her shoulders.

Mina managed to get a question after several minutes of silent, "Umm, when i go back to my home, what are you going to do?"

Chaeyoung mumbles, "missing you"

What... on....Earth, did she just said!?

I didn't hear it wrong right?

Mina felt something warm from her cheeks, It was Chaeyoung doing, landed a kiss on Mina's cheeks. The bomb inside her heart exploded, Mina internally screaming. 'Oh my God, what the hecc just happened!? it's not the first time she kissed my cheeks.

Her heartbeat starts to do a morning jog, Mina could only look blankly at Chaeyoung who was smiling like an idiot, "you like to kiss people cheeks without permission huh?"

"Hahah, it's normal tho, you never?" Chaeyoung innocently just answer like that.

"What kind of answer is that?" Mina frowned.

"So you never been kissed on cheeks before?" Chaeyoung teasingly asks.

"My parents did... when i was small" Mina voice trailed off, embarassed.

Chaeyoung burst into a laugh, "AHahahahah"

"What's wrong with that!?" Mina kinda offended.

Chaeyoung startled but still smiling like idiot, "calm down Mina, sorry i shouldn't have laughing like that, it's normal here, friends greet each other with handshakes, hugs, cheeks kisses and more, well not for royal tho, i always wander around in the town, so they does that"

"We're royals" Mina coldly replied.

"Uughh, come on don't be so grumpy, i will not laugh at you again okay, deal?" Chaeyoung lifts her hand for a handshake for the deal.

"what is the benefit for me?" Mina asked.

"The next time i kiss your cheeks i will not laugh at you"

"eh?" Mina puzzled.

"well, if you don't like it, you can give me back" Chaeyoung chuckles.

"Eh!?" Mina flustered and don't know what to do next.

Chaeyoung still chuckling.

what? What? WHAT?
"Nayeon is waiting for me, I'm going back, bye" Mina stands up and take some steps, but stopped by Chaeyoung's hand. Mina reflected and look back.

"when will we meet again?" Chaeyoung timidly asked.

"I'm not sure," - "but I'm sure we will meet again"

"can i send you letters?" Chaeyoung asked again.

"huh? why?"

Chaeyoung says softly, "i said it before, i will be missing you"

Mina flustered again, "U-up to you! bye!"

Mina runs away as soon as she finished her word and Chaeyoung just laughing there watching her cute grumpy friend runs away.
