Chapter 45 - party?

The Raging fire spread out of control to the whole town, screams overwhelming everyone's ear, mourning to their loved one, kids crying, houses burned.

The whole town is on fire.

Not only fire, but word spread before it happens, they are talking about the powder and the weird cube, the witnesses said the suspicious assassins poured it, they even report it to the royal guards which caused the whole team to hunt the assassins after they verified it's the flammable powder.

The assassins had no choice but to kill everyone, so words would not spread to the other Kingdom.

One by one, until the town filled with corpses

[at Jeongyeon's farm]

After noticing the black smoke making dark columns into the blue sky, Jeongyeon immediately hops on and climb the loquat tree. Higher and higher, until he could see the smoke is coming from the town.

He looked at it, aghast at the thought of Sana.

"Ryutozakiiiiii!!!" Jeongyeon jump down, dash to where Ryuto is and piggyback him.

"goin where?? today so fast?? appa???" Ryuto pulled Jeongyeon's ear.

Out of the blue, Jeongyeon felt he was hit by something from his back, really hard, until he fell to the ground, "aww, Ryuto..."

Ryuto sitting on his back, pulling his ear again "get up! appa!"

"..." He felt his organs gonna pop out from his body, like his rib is poking them out, first he thought Ryuto hit him, but it's not!

He immediately got up on his foot and sprint again, something is wrong, it must be from Sana...

The farm is kinda far from the town, he just sprint, getting anxious since the pain he felt, Ryuto was having fun getting piggyback by his father, even after he arrived, Many corpses lying on the ground, Burnt smell starts to get in their nose, Ryuto just innocently look at them.

"waaaaao~ party? barbeque?? sleeping??" Ryuto asked.

"yes, they had a party and... we missed it," Jeongyeon keep running until he arrived at his house.

Sana...

his eyes widened when he saw almost half of the roof is gone,

"Sana!" Jeongyeon shouted and went inside the burnt house. It's a mess, like the falling ruins. Sana was beneath the big piles of wood from the roof that fell on her back. Bloods still flowing out from her.

It's really from you...

His knees hit the floor, tears uncontrollably flow down heavily.

"eommaaaa??" Ryuto gets down and confused when he saw his mom like that, but after looking at the tears flowing down on his father's face, Ryuto starts tearing up.

"SANA!! SANA!!" Jeongyeon shook her shoulder.

*Ryuto cries louder*

Ryuto keeps crying and wiping his own face with that dirty hand until his face was covered with a smudge of black ashes, Jeongyeon then wipe it with her thumb and hug to shush him down, stroking his head, "don't worry, mom is gonna be fine"

He obediently stopped crying, wiping his face with his sleeves, blankly stares at his father who is trying to get rid of the wood on his mom.

After getting rid of three big pieces of wood, Jeongyeon felt worn out, he sat for a while and places his fingertip below Sana's nose.

He couldn't sense any warm breath from it.

NO! it can't be...

I thought you were still alive since I'm still alive...

He held his tears to burst, he stunned beside the scene, then turns to Ryuto, "mom is just too tired after the party, let her rest, okay?"

Ryuto hummed and nods as a response.

Jeongyeon doesn't want him to know, so he looked at the other way. He gripped his own clothes and hits his own chest, tears flow so much even though he tries to hold it.

Tears dripping on the floor,

Oh damn it hurts...

Sana.., I hope you're not alone there, don't worry, i will keep Ryuto safe and sound...

"Didn't I said just to burn few houses?!"

Familiar voices were heard, Jeongyeon alarmed, he take a peek from the hole in the wall,

Mina!? He slapped himself, to make sure it's real.

"somebody saw us and reported it to the guards, we had no choice, we apologize! General!"

"what a pity, we could take them and use them as our slaves"

"we apologize, General"

"search that house, look for a little boy, if he is still alive, bring him to me"

In speed light, Jeongyeon immediately lifts up the door to the underground vault, where he kept his savings. He grabs Ryuto then hide there, "sssh, don't make any voice"

*door open

"search everything!"

*rummage noise

"General, there is no sign of the little boy, only a dead body"

Mina goes inside the burnt house, like what they said, no sign of the little boy, as well as Jeongyeon.

still at the farm?

Mina ordered them to lift all the pile of woods on Sana's body. Brushing away the dust and ashes on the bed. Ordered them again to place the dead body on the bed.

"what sound??" Ryuto curiously asked.

Jeongyeon immediately covers his mouth, placing his index finger on his mouth, "ssh"

"everyone, stop what you're doing!"

"yes, General"

"Did any of you hear any suspicious sound?"

Jeongyeon's heart is racing,

we're doomed! if i die here, at least let me know why this is happening? and out of all people in the world,

warf! The Shiba Inu leash was detached from the stick that held him , then he runs inside the house, then it runs away, leaving the house.

Mina and the squad go and search Jeongyeon's farm, she thought they must be there, yet again, no sign of them.

you're going to die soon tho, why don't you let me have your Ryuto?

"Let's head back, before the nightfall"

Mina and the assassins head back to their home, Myoui Kingdom.
