Chapter 11 - Myoui Archer

The Myoui Kingdom army has set off to the southern, riding the horse non-stop to the south for the whole day. It will takes a few days to reach the southern since the distance is quite far, it's more than 200km.

When the sun changed shift with the moon, they set a temporary base camp to rest for every night in the journey.

In the last day before the war, Mina felt funny with herself.

I afraid if something happened to me i will regret it for not replying this letter. It's so unusual for me, but I'm going to do this!

Mina orders a warrior when he wakes up in the morning to deliver the tied letter to the Son Kingdom princess, Son Chaeyoung. Due to the distance, it might take three or four days to be delivered.

The Myoui army stayed at the southern for a day before the day rumoured of the enemy would attack the southern area.

They start to do like rehearsal of the defensive formation and practice more of their skills for the half of the day, they are excited about the feeling finally they are able to fight like a man, able to defend their country, of all their hard work of practising the skills even though they know they could die in the battlefield.

The next day, unknown army comes like a swarm of bees of a thousand of soldiers, ready to ambush, but Myoui armies have more in number like 500 more of soldiers than them and already in the formation orderly before they come to attack.

King Myoui drew his sword and give a signal to the two soldiers, Then they hit the large drum and blew the horn as a sign for all soldiers to attack. Three hundred Myoui archers behind the shield soldiers release the arrow forward high, floating before it land and killed some front rows.

The war has started, Mina stays protected behind the shield soldiers, she slowly moves around with her armoured white horse, and draw an arrow from her quiver, aiming at the foe commander who is raging around in the middle of the field killing with his blade.

It takes a while for Mina to shoot, since the enemy was riding on his horse at a fast pace, swaying around his blade.

It pierced the foe commander's right hand which made him groan and drop his sword, slowed down his pace. Mina draws another arrow and aims at his heart. It killed him in instant and he fell down from his horse.

Mina starts to shoot at the foe soldiers while running with her horse because her mission is done, The foe lieutenant is down in no time after one-by-one with King Myoui, even though he is old but he can still fight with that skills.

The foe armies were wiped out completely, the Myoui Kingdom goes back in victory, The southern town throws a feast for The Myoui armies who defended the southern with plentiful of meats and beers.

All the tired soldiers start to fill their stomach with those meats then cheers with beers and getting tipsy while dealing with their emotions some are crying quietly even though we win the fight but some of them lost their friend on the bloodshed and they couldn't just sobs there in the victory feast. Since it is a celebration, not a funeral.

Mina sits beside her father and noticed some of the soldiers quietly crying.

It must be hard for them, losing their friend. What if i died today will Chae cry like them too?

...what am i thinking? what happened to me? why always Chaeyoung Chaeyoung and Chaeyoung? you always come into my mind without permission.
