Jesse Pov:

The rapid streams move swiftly. Lukas, who is gazing warmly at me, kneels in the probably warm sand.

I kneel beside him and hand him the wood I had found earlier. Turns out there was wood on this island just not very much.

Lulas grabs the wood from me gently. "It's not much but it was all I could find."

Lukas nods and my attention turns to the rapid waters. My eyebrow furrows, but my gaze turns back to Lukas as he speaks softly.

"This should be enough... Thanks Jesse," He says.

A small smile light's up his face and I muse until he speaks again.

"We can actually get out of here," He says.

"Yeah...I guess we can," I say.

The gentle but crisp breeze made loose strands of my umber hair sway gently.

Lukas finished making a crafting table and placed it down on the sand.

Even with one eye it seemed like he had 20/20 vision.

Having only one eye didn't seem to bother him that much and he never mentions it.

Within a couple of minutes, Lukas had crafted a boat.

I took the two oars and Lukas walked closer to the eroding shore.

He sets the wooden boat down and the waves push it slightly.

This can actually work. We can get back!

Lukas climbs in the boat and it silently rocks.

He turns to me and outstretches his hand. With my freehand I grab it.

Swiftly, but catouisly I climb into the boat. It rocks to the side and I stumble.

Lukas' grip on my hand keeps me from falling and eventually I sit down.

I hand Lukas the oars and he grabs them. Almost immediately, he starts rowing the boat down the rapid stream.

What am I going to do when I get back? Did the gang meet with are other allies already? Perhaps their planning the ambush? Or are they waiting for Lukas and I to get back? I really hope they aren't waiting...

Our enemy's motivation is extremely confusing though. Vegeance. What for though?

For the bloodshed? For taking away their power's? For the casualties we caused?

If anything we should be the ones wanting vegeance. They're the one's who caused all this pain. All these losses.

They are the ones who caused my people to die. Parts of my town went up in flames and many people died that day.

They always strike us first, but maybe th-

"You okay Jesse?"

My gaze shoots up. "I'm fine," I say.

"Doesn't seem like it... Talk to me Jesse," Lukas says, his hands firm on the light brown oars.

The wind picks up and my gaze falls to the water.

"It's...Lukas...they just want vegeance, but I don't get why," I say.

"..I don't get why either Jesse...," He says then sighs.

The wind becomes harsher and the boat rocks roughly.

The boat nearly tiped over a couple of times and it always caught me off guard too.

"Hopefully these winds will calm down soon." Lukas says.

"Yeah hopefu-...," I drift off as the boat actually tips over. A mouthful of water enters my mouth and instantly I start to panic.

I kick my legs as swiftly as possible.

A tight grip wraps around my waist and pulls me up.

As I pop out of the water, Lukas and I both cough violently.

My soaked hairs sticks to my forehead and Lukas flips the floating boat over with one hand.

Eventually I climb in, but unfortunately Lukas has to swim back down to get the oars.

Eventually he pops back up with the oars and I swiftly help him get on the boat.

An hour or so passes when we finally see a fallen bridge halfway submerged in the rapid water's.

"Lukas!" I exclaim, "We actually made it back!"

I sigh in relief and Lukas smiles softly and says, "I guess we really did huh."
