You Just Me (Just Between You and Me)

Chapter 6

Most people think I am a social media type of guy. Wrong. My views about social media are not really favorable. Lahat na lang ng problema ng society pinapakita sa social media. Whatever thoughts that get into people's heads pinipilit nilang isaksak din sa utak ng iba. Too negative for my liking.

I do have accounts on various social media platforms though. Pero hindi ko naman masyadong ginagamit. I don't dwell so much with it. It's not good.

But after the cafeteria incident yesterday, my phone suddenly was a mess, filled with tons of different notifications. Friend requests, tagged photos, private messages, and a whole lot more. All those for that not so big of an act? It's crazy. Mixed reactions all over social media especially in the university's official page.

Some got surprised but supportive.

"That was brave of L.A. to do that. I hope magtagal sila. I am a fan."

"Sayang naman si L.A. pero mukhang bagay naman silang dalawa. Love is love."

"Ang swerte ni Sebastian kay Davis. Nerd meets hottie. Ilabit!"

"Mas kinilig pa ang GF ko sa ginawa ni L.A. kesa sa mga nagawa ko na. How to be you po?"

"@ladavis_ I admire your courage. I wish you both well. Take care of each other."

But others just became plain cruel.

"Taray ni bakla. Dream come true siguro kaya naiyak. Walang forever sa mga ganyan hoy!"

"Gipit ba si guy? Magkano ba? Hahahaha. Gwapo sana nya pero pumatol sa bakla. Si bakla naman, ang saya-saya. Enjoy mo yan girl while it last. Magiging talunan ka rin sa huli."

"The NERD I mean the nerve of that creepy bakla. Akala mo kung sinong maganda. Lahat ba talaga ng nerd required maging TANGA?"

"Nagayuma siguro si @ladavis_ ng baklang yan. Kawawa naman. LOL!"

This is exactly what I don't like about social media. The freedom to talk shit about someone they know no story about and post it as if it's not going to hurt. Toxic as others say it.

What upsets me the most is the fact that Mace received a lot of hate and negative opinions out from this. Just because he's different and all doesn't give anyone the liberty to judge him like he's a lesser human. I dragged Mace into this. Somehow, it's a guilt to my heart.

The guilt has even intensified reading one more comment.

"Ngayon nyo sabihin saken na hindi ginagamit ni L.A. ang freshmen na yan. Kasi parang nararamdaman ko na ganoon ang mangyayari. Napakagwapo tapos maiinlove sa bakla? Parang may hindi tama eh."

That stunned me. Right now, it gave me second thoughts. This has gone too far than what was planned.

"Oh my gosh Mace, Kuya L.A.?" I heard from the back. Mace broke the hug again so I turned around to see who he was facing. It was Jas.

SHIT. My soul got out of my body for a second.

Looking at how her face reacted with the situation, I guessed she was totally in shock. Mace tried to approach her but she immediately walked away. Right then, Mace followed her and kept calling her name. God this is not happening.
