I was lost for words. A heavy feeling came in my chest; a throb in the heart telling me I should apologise. But I can't even look at Mace straight to the face so I just looked away. For a while, I became the silent one.

"Okay lang Lance." He tapped my right arm. "Hayaan mo na." He added and smiled.

"Are you sure you're fine?" I needed an assurance. He just nodded and smiled one more time. That I knew, I was convinced that it didn't affect him. I sighed.

I really thought other people's negative opinions about him being in this fake relationship with me would hit him hard. I worried too much, I guess. Nobody is to blame but myself though.

"Lunch, later?" I trotted out to lift up the mood. "I'll meet you up at parking. I'm taking you outside."

"Bakit outside Lance? Sa cafeteria na lang kaya?" He asked.

"People are watching our every move from now on. Mawawalan lang tayo ng appetite sa mga tingin ng mga tao doon Mace. Let's go somewhere where you and I won't feel uncomfortable, alright? Don't worry, we won't take long." Then he nodded. It was settled then. I reached for his head and fixed his hair. He seemed to have a hairstyle similar to Malcolm's. They will surely get along. I smiled at the thought of it.

Our Principles of Marketing professor was called out for an important meeting so we were dismissed earlier than scheduled. Walking through the hallway felt really weird. Can people just take their eyes off me? It's the 21st century, people. Do you really have to act like you're all so surprised and intrigued that a guy could have a relationship with another guy? I mean, I am not even in a real one. Nagpapanggap lang ako.

I headed to the lockers and kept my things, making sure it would be easy to grab for the afternoon classes. Then, Joshua appeared when I was just about to close my locker.

"Going somewhere, pare?" He asked.

"I'm taking Mace out for lunch. The cafeteria crowd might be too much for him." I said closing the locker.

"Too much for him? Or for you? Masyado mo yata sineseryoso ang fake relationship mo sa kanya?" He asked back laughing.

"Ofcourse not." I lightly pushed him. "I just don't want him to feel bad about what's been going on with social media lately. He'll probably lose it. And I don't want that."

"Well, keep things straight bro. You know what I mean?" He joked. "Get your head in the plan. Baka sooner or later ikaw ang maging messed up." He added and walked out. He looked back at me and gave me a nod. I just shook my head and tried to forget about his ridiculousness.

I headed to the parking lot to check on my car. Waiting for Mace to arrive, I opened my phone for some messages.

"Gusto ko siya makita Kuya. Take him home with you, okay?" Malcolm was really insisting on meeting Mace as soon as possible, even sending me loads of repeating messages. Like man, why do you have to be so excited? I replied a no without any explanation. Who's the loser now, huh?

I also got messages from Mom. Reminding me of how crazy my brother could get. She also sent me photos of Dad with our little cousin Taylor, the daughter of Tita Marley, Mom's sister who is now living in Palawan with her Australian husband.
