Waiting for your members to show up really is a pain in the ass. Why was I in the same group with my friends again? Right, that freedom to choose who you want to work with. Most of the time I don't have that sort of freedom because if I did, I would've stayed away from them or better yet work alone. In cases like this, I got no choice because Josh automatically counts me in the group he named "B-Boys" noong unang taon namin sa university.

I am halfway done with the sandwich I ordered in this cafe and yet they're still not here. Sometimes, I think malas ako na magkaroon ng mga kaibigang walong beses lang nagiging seryoso sa pag-aaral sa isang taon. I tried calling Josh several times until he picked up.

"Thought you were dead dumb ass! Nasaan ka ba? I thought you said four? Even reminding me not to be late."

"Traffic dito bro pero malapit na ako." Here we go again with his never-changing excuse.

"Hindi mo ako maloloko. Traffic is not heavy on weekends. So if you guys are not going to be here in ten minutes, I'm bailing myself out and I'll submit an output for myself." I warned.

"Konting hintay na lang bro, chill. Masyado mo na namang pinapairal ang pagiging Amerikano mo. Tandaan mo, fifty percent lang ang Amerikano sa'yo ha at di one hundred." He cracked. I just shook my head in disappointment. Nagawa pa niya talaga na magbiro. Unbelievable! So I hung up on him.

An hour of me waiting has passed and I already finished my sandwich and my drink. That strawberry frappe was too sweet so I wanted to ask for a glass of water. Too bad I was far from the counter.

"Excuse me." I called the one wearing an apron who was clearing out one of the nearby tables. I tried getting his attention but he wasn't noticing. Instead, he continued wiping the tables, in all smiles. Crazy. In my head, I was thinking he might be deaf.

Great. Could my day get any worse?

"Excuse me. Can I get a glass of water here please?" I raised my voice for I was already pissed. And finally, he turned to me. Maybe he was not deaf afterall.

"May kailangan po ba kayo Sir?" He asked with a smile on his face

"May kailangan po ba kayo Sir?" He asked with a smile on his face.

I stood up. "I've been calling you but it seems like you can't hear me. Hindi ka naman siguro bingi so could you please get me a glass of water? Right now, please?"

"Pasensya na po. Hindi na po mauulit." His smile was fading. "Sige po. Ikukuha ko na kayo ng ..." He was cut off.

"Mace naka break ka pa hindi ba? Bakit ka nandito? Ako na diyan." I saw the lady's name plate that said Manager.
