Into The Flames

The flames, they appeal

In a sick, twisted way

They flicker as bright

As the light of day

Don't say I'll get burned

It will only excite me

Each scar I have earned

Is vile and unsightly

I tried to fly

And fell to the ground

Where these broken wings

Have held me down

So now I must go,

Chin up, standing tall

Into the flames

Where I've tried not to fall

Each moment that passes

Is another regret

Time moves like molasses

Slow and unmet

When will this end

When will I get a break

I'll stop this myself

There's no more you can take

I'll take my own life

Into my hands

Don't tell me I'm wrong

Don't give me commands

So now I must go,

Chin up, standing tall

Into the flames

Where I've tried not to fall.
