Fear

When the world around you comes crumbling down

And you choke on the ash of your dreams

When the list of reasons to take your life

Has grown to lengths of extremes

When you raise your iron fist of courage

Just to be thrown aside,

When you find someone you truly love

But from you they run and hide

When the mountain of life becomes to steep

And you trip and fall back down

When a loved one stabs you in the back

And your hope cannot be found

When your faith in god has grown so weak

And your prayers have been ignored

When you feel alone and so misread

No more pain you can afford

When you search inside your empty soul

For anything of worth

When you lose your way--you have been lost

Since the moment of your birth

When your weary-eyed beloved

Sheds one last dreadful tear

When you cannot take another step

You're petrified with fear
