Before Your Daughter's Gone

How can you be so unaware?

It's me your scorn filled words do scare.

You ignore the pain you cause,

Take a moment, stop and pause.

Are you the person you once were?

Of your actions, are you sure?

You used to be so kind and sweet,

But now I must admit defeat.

Your snappy words are endless, dad,

Where is the bond that we once had?

Each conversation's filled with rage

We're the actors, set the stage.

This story has no happy end,

My own well-being, I'll defend.

You want respect, but dont deserve.

Some words you really should reserve.

Each day we grow father apart,

Snarky remarks are now an art.

But I miss you, I really do.

Are all these hurtful insults true?

Father, we've all made mistakes,

Please be honest, don't be fake

Apologize and we'll move on

Please, before you're daughter's gone.
