Disclaimer: I am fully aware this wasn't the band lineup in 2008, but whatever. Deal with it.
Edit: I actually don't fuckin know how the band lineup is working right now I'm sorry

"I can't believe you're doing this."
"I can't believe your fucking attitude, Ash." Max replied. "We need another singer. Just because you sucked Ronnie's dick once doesn't mean he's staying. He's in jail."
"Jackass." I replied. "I hope you get clean, just so I can rub something in your face while you're sober."
He grabbed my wrist. "I am not afraid to hit you."
"Try me."
He raised his hand, then lowered it. "I have some level of self control. Just make sure when Ronnie comes back, you're not drooling all over his shoes."
Omar looked at me. "Ease up, Max. She's just a little girl."
"I'm not little." I went up to him. "I will fight you."
"What are you, twenty one?"
"Twenty two."
"Proving a point."
"Shut the hell up, Omar."
"What, gonna run away to your little murderer boyfriend?" Robert asked.
"You guys didn't fucking defend him when you know he didn't do it!" I yelled.
"He's in jail, isn't he?"
I walked away, not wanting to get into another fight. It's been two weeks since Ronnie was admitted to prison for a battery charge in the death of eighteen year old Michael Cook. "Hey, listen." Monte said. "I'm sorry about them."
"Thanks." I said flatly.
"The new singer-"
"I don't give a damn. I'm not in the band."
"Please? For me?"
I rolled my eyes. "Fine."
"His name is Craig Mabbitt. He was in Blessthefall."
"And he downgraded."
"Funny."
"Well, I'm on my way to visit Ronnie, since the guys asked me if I was. Now I gotta, fuckin' prove them wrong."
"Okay."
"Do you guys honestly want me to stay here? At the concerts, with the band, shit like that?"
"I do. They do, deep down. They're just pissed about Ronnie."
"Yeah. So am I."
"Yeah."
"See you, Monte."
"See you, Ash."

Ronnie picked up the phone. "Hey, Ash."
"They got a new singer." I said, staring through the glass.
"Oh, really?" He asked dangerously. "Who?"
"Craig Mabbitt."
"Blessthefall?"
"That's the asshole."
"That sucks."
"Yeah. I gotta deal with them. Max, Robert, and Omar are all asses."
"Monte?"
"He's neutral, leaning more on your side. I think it's more because it's three against two and the three is them."
"Yeah."
"I heard he's coming today."
"Oh. Yeah." Ronnie paused. "Promise me you'll get clean. Eventually. I'm not saying now, but like, before you're thirty."
I nodded. "Fine."
"No drugs. No blunts. No smoking."
"Fine."
"I'm doing this because I care about you, Ash."
"I know, Ronnie."
"You'll do fine with the guys. And for future reference, before you get clean, smoking gets guys hot."
I laughed. "In prison and still giving me dating advice. That's true friendship."
"It is."
"Well, I should probably go." I took my car keys out of my pocket.
"Hey, is that my car key?"
I smiled. "I'll give it back when you're out."
"Okay, fine."
"Bye, Ronnie."
"Bye, babe." I had forgotten he called me that. "I'll see you soon?"
"Couple weeks, I promise."
"Okay, love you. Tell my dad I'm sorry."
"I'll tell him personally."
"You're the best." He grinned as I walked away.
