My heart dropped into my throat. I couldn't be... It was Max's. It had to be Max's. I couldn't think... No. Ronnie never got me like that. I tossed the small stick into the trash and covered it with some tissues. "Babe?" I asked, exiting the bathroom.
"Yeah, what's up?" Max draped his arms around my shoulders.
"Can we talk?" I bit my lip.
"Of course." He sat on the counter.
"Hey, so uh... Remember Heroin Night?"
"No. But I remember everyone talking about it."
"Remember... Remember how I came... To your apartment? And I was... Well, pregnant? With Craig's baby?"
"You're pregnant with Craig's baby again?"
"No." I put my head in my hands.
"You're pregnant with Ronnie's baby?"
"Max!"
"You're pregnant with... My baby?"
"Yeah." I whispered, tears falling. "Fuck, it's from a couple weeks ago with Ronnie, when we didn't use protection, and..."
"I'm gonna have a kid?" He smiled.
"Y-Yeah."
He came over to me and bent down so he was level with my stomach. "Hi, baby. I'm your dad. I'm gonna love you so much that you won't know what to do."
I laughed and choked back tears. "You're gonna be an amazing dad."
"Yeah, I am." He picked me up. "You're gonna be a wonderful mom."

"Hey, so, uh..."
"Tell us!" Anthony demanded. "You got us all out here, now I wanna know!"
"What's up? Did you relapse?" Dad asked.
"Ooh, did you kill someone?" Ronnie said, a little too enthusiastically.
"I didn't kill someone, I didn't relapse. Thank God for both." I bit my lip ring. "So, um, you guys all know I'm in a committed relationship with Max. And, uh, I'm pregnant."
"How far along?" Dad smiled.
"Two weeks."
Ronnie did the math in his head. "Ah, okay."
Yes, Ronnie. That is the exact timing. "That's amazing, Ash." Anthony hugged me.
"You keeping it?"
"Yeah... Yeah. I am."
"Can I be a godfather?" He asked.
"I'll need to talk about that with Max."
"I'm so proud of you." Dad smiled.

Max grinned and swept me into a hug. "The guys are mostly happy."
"Mostly?"
"Everyone but Craig."
"Fair. Ronnie and Anthony and Dad were happy."
"Monte wants to be a godfather."
"So does Ronnie." I laughed.
"Our kid can have two godfathers. It's not like we know any females to be a godmother."
"So Ronnie and Monte?"
"Yeah." Max kissed my hair. "I'll tell them later."
"If it's a girl, I wanna name her Amelie. Or Violet."
"I like Violet."
"And if it's a boy... How about Liam? Or Matt?"
"Hmm, I like Liam. Or what about Nate?"
"Maybe Nate. Liam's on the list, then."
"Good."
