Chapter 13: Family Destroyed1 week had gone by since Shori was sent away, Amy and Sonic spent all of that week searching for Mephiles, day time until night time, but he was no where to be found. Amy was more worried about Shori, even though Sonia wrote letters to Amy about how Shori was, but Amy would never reply, she thought that if she sent a letter Mephiles would get a hold of it, and know where Shori was.- - - In Mobotropolis, Shori was in her bedroom, she was looking out the window. "Mommy...I miss you..." Shori sighed and leaned her head against the wall. Sonia was stood at the door, Manic walked up to her, "hey Sonia...how is Shori today..." Sonia sighed, "she still looking out the window, I hope Sonic and Amy find Mephiles soon...I fear that Shori might try to run away..." Manic nodded in agreement, Sonia and Manic heard a knock on the door. Sonia looked at Manic, "I wonder who that could be..." Manic shrugged, they walked over to the door. Manic opened the door, they both gasped in surprise. "My children..." Sonia smiled, "Mother." Sonia hugged her Mother, Manic also hugged his Mother. Sonia looked at her mother, "Mother what are you doing here?" Aleena walked in and sat down, "I think there is a few things you must explain to me...since my other son Sonic hasn't..." Manic and Sonia looked at each other, "Yeah..." Sonia and Manic sat down and told Aleena everything that has happened. Aleena looked at them shocked, "Sonic is married...already!" Sonia giggled, "yeah." Aleena smiled, Manic smiled, "you also have a granddaughter Mom!" Aleena smiled, "really!?" Sonia smiled, "yeah! she is actually here now." Aleena clasped her hands together, "oh I must meet her! Is Sonic and his wife here too?" Manic looked down with sad eyes, "actually...Sonic and his wife Amy...got into some trouble...so their daughter Shori is staying with us for a while..." Aleena looked at them confused, "trouble? what kind of trouble?"Sonia stood up and looked at Shoris bedroom door, she noticed it was closed, "Sonics daughter is in danger...so Amy and Sonic are out looking for Mephiles to destroy him...meanwhile me and Manic are looking after Shori..." Aleena nodded, "Ok...may I see my Granddaughter..." Sonia and Manic smiled and nodded, "yeah ofcourse!" Sonia walked over to the door, she opened it slowly, "Shori..." Shori turned around, "yes Auntie Sonia...?" Sonia smiled, "there is someone I want you to meet..." Shori stood up, "who?" Manic nodded, Aleena walked into the room, Sonia smiled, "Shori this is your Grandmother...Queen Aleena..." Shori looked at Queen Aleena in amazment, Aleena kneeled down infront of Shori, "it's nice to finally meet you..." Shori smiled, "nice to meet you to nana Aleena..." Aleena giggled at her knew name, she stroked Shoris cheek and short quills slowly. "Never fear Shori...you will return to your mother and father...very soon...im absolutely sure of it..." Shori stared at Aleena tears started to appeare in her eyes, Aleena smiled and wiped them away."don't be sad they are still with you in your heart...and you still have your family around you..." Shori looked at Sonia and Manic, they both smiled, and nodded. Shori smiled as her tears fell faster, she ran into Aleenas arms. - - -In a nearby dark forest in mobotropolis, the evil Mephiles was stood on the tallest tree. He looked over the city, he stared at the house where Shori was. "here you are...little Shori..." Mephiles started laughing, he then disappeared in a puff of black smoke.Shori fell asleep in Aleenas arms, Sonia and Manic were in the room watching Shori sleep. "Maybe all Shori need was a motherly person..." Aleena looked at Sonia and Manic, Manic smiled and nodded, "and who is better at that then you Mom."Aleena smiled, suddenly a shadow of a hedgehog was seen at the window, "thanks for looking after her but I'm here now!" Sonia, Manic and Aleena gasped, "I-It couldn't be! it's Mephiles!" Mephiles smashed the window, Sonia screamed.Manic gritted his teeth, "I won't let you hurt my Family!!" Manic rubbed his pendant, a hug drum set appeared infront of him. Manic started drumming, part of the building flew towards Mephiles, but Mephiles punched them away.Sonia ran over to him and threw her fists towards him, Mephiles grabbed Sonia by the the throat, Aleena screamed, "SONIA!!" Aleena ran over to Sonia, Sonia looked at her mother, "Mother stop! You have to get Shori out of here!" Aleena started panicking, "b-but you're my children!!" Sonia smiled, "that taught us to help others...by making harmony...which was from the love you gave us..." Manic fell to his hands and knees. Mephiles tightened his grip on Sonias neck, Sonia gritted her teeth in pain.Manic smiled, hiding the pain. "Don't worry Mom...we will see you again...we found you once...I'm sure we can do it again...besides we are..." Manic stood up, Sonia pushed Mephiles away from her, Manic and Sonia held hands, their pendants started glowing."SONIC UNDERGROUND!!!!" Sonic was in Tails workshop with his friends, he noticed his pendant glowing, "wh-what's going on!!?" Sonic closed his eyes tight, somehow he felt sad. His eyes widened, 'Sonia!! Manic!!' Sonic ran outside, Amy looked at him worried, "Sonic!?" she ran after him, the others followed. The light on Sonics pendant revealed an image, Sonics eyes widened, "Sonia!! Manic!!" Amy gasped at who she saw, "It's Mephiles!!!" The image disappeared, what Amy didn't know was if Shori was safe or not. Amy clasped her hands together, Sonic was shocked at what happened, "S-Sonia...M-Manic..."- - -Sonia and Manic fell to their knees, "I hope Sonic got the message...we have no power left..." Aleena looked at Manic, Manic looked at Aleena, "Mom Go!" Aleena nodded, she turned around to grab Shori, until she noticed that she wasn't there."She isn't here!!" Sonia gasped, they heard Mephiles laughing, "I always get what I want!!" In his arms was Shori, her eyes were closed. Their phone started ringing, Mephiles answered the phone, knowing who it was.Amy put the phone on to speaker, "Manic!! Sonia!!! Are you ok!?" Everyone waited on an answer, but there was nothing. Then a dark voice started laughing, "Game Over...Amy Sonic! Your little Hedgehog Family will never be the same! say good bye Shori..." The phone then cut off, Amy eyes widened, her phone slipped out of her hand.The phone hit the ground, tears started filling her eyes, she started faintly whispering to herself. "Sh-Shori...was...no...this is...a...d-dream..." Sonic gritted his teeth in anger and sadness. Amy fell to her knees, Sonic kneeled down beside her, Amy gritted her teeth and hid her face, she gripped her head tightly, in anger of herself and Mephiles.She then screamed her heart out, tears flowing from her eyes. Tikal, Cream and Blaze couldn't help but tear up too. Rouge looked the other way in sadness, Shadow placed a hand on Rouges shoulder. Tails and Knuckles were shocked, tears were forming in Sonics eyes, he tried holding them back but it was useless. Sonic wrapped his arms around Amy, crying into her shoulder.Was it over...did Sonic and Amy loose their daughter for good?
