Today is the first day back to school for me since everything happened and as I'm standing in front of my bed filled with clothes I have no clue what to wear. I decided not to dwell in the past and keep moving forward with my new life with Derek. I am starting to trust him more and we made an agreement that he won't shower me with things. A fact that has been going on for a while now. Every time he sees me looking at something for more than five seconds he will immediately buy it for me and when I tell him to stop his answer is "You're my baby sister and if I want to spoil you rotten then I'm going to do it whether you like it or not". Shaking my head at my brother's stubbornness, I go back to looking at my clothes spread on my bed.
"How are you not ready yet", Amber asks walking in my room. I turn to look at her and shrug. I don't know either.
She takes a seat on my bed and I glance at what she's wearing; tan high waist shorts with a white crop top and combat boots.
"I don't know what to wear! I haven't worn clothes like this in a while", I say picking up a blue shirt and dropping back on the bed with a sigh.
"Here, let me help you", Amber says going through everything on the bed. She starts tossing clothes left and right and I watch as they fall on the floor. I'm going to have to clean my room later
"Okay, I got it", she squeals out and hands me the clothes that she chose. Shrugging, I go into my bathroom to change. After I look at myself in the mirror; high waist blue jeans and a black crop top with the words 'like a boss' on it are decorating my body. I smile shaking my head and walking out of the bathroom. Amber hands me a pair of gray boots that go mid-calf before leaving the room and now I'm all set.
I look in the mirror again and smile. I grab my light gray cardigan and school bag and go downstairs in the kitchen where everyone is located.
"Good morning", I say sitting next to Amber and grabbing a peach from the fruit bowl.
"Good morning, honey. How did you sleep", Derek asks kissing the top of my head and sitting down to finish his coffee.
Derek has been everything for me lately. He takes the roll of my older brother when we're joking around and play-fighting and the roll of a father at times like this one.
"I slept well. Thank you for asking", I say taking a bite of my peach.
I am halfway done with my peach when Mark speaks up, "You guys remember what we talked about last night", he asks. I look at Amber and she looks at me.
She shrugs he shoulders, "Yeah, don't talk to anyone we don't know and stay with the boys at all times when we are not in class. Never leave Nike's side and if anything happens push the panic button as well as call one of you guys", she repeats the words from last night in a bored tone making me laugh a little.
"Amber, we are not playing games. We need you guys safe", Mac states firmly and I stop laughing and looking down feeling a little bad for laughing.
"I know...I know but you guys bugged us all night about it", she groans and I shake my head at her.
"We know, guys, we will be careful at all times", I say smiling at them. I look at the time and see that we have to leave for school.
"Well, we have to go. We'll see you guys later", I hop off the stool and give Derek a hug telling him I'll be careful and that I love him.
I say 'bye' to the rest of the boys and then grab Amber's hand and drag her out of the house to the car since she's the one driving. Derek got her a car so we can go to school and back home. It is a simple car and something that will not bring any attention to us.
