My Unexpected Saviors

Who knew driving to the lake with a bunch of guys could be so much fun. We have been driving for about an hour and I haven't stopped laughing. I can't remember how long it has been since I laughed this hard. I look out of the window trying to catch my breath because Nick and Chris keep telling me funny stories about what they have done over the years and some stories about Dom. I thought he would be mad at them telling me about him but instead he laughs along with us.

Finally catching my breath, I look around the car to see what the boys are doing; Jace is driving, Nick is sitting next to him and Dom, Chris and I are sitting in the back. I didn't want to sit in the middle because I want to look out the window so Dom is in the middle now. Good thing that I'm small because Dom and Chris take up most of the room. I look out the window when I see a lake come into view. I mentally gasp because of the way the sun light hits the little waves and the reflection of the clouds on its surface with trees around it makes the lake look so pretty. I've never seen a lake like this before! I feel myself smile a little bit; I already love this little lake.

I feel Dom put his arm over my shoulder and the other one around my waist and I feel him lean closer to me.

"You like?" he whispers. I can't find my words yet so I just nod and turn my head to look at him only to find his face inches from mine. He looks at my lips then back to my eyes. Right when we are going to kiss, Chris clears his throat and I jump away from him trying to hide my flushed cheeks. I hear the boys in the front laugh lightly and I blush harder. Dom leaves his arm over my shoulder smiling a little and I look back out of the window. I can't remember the last time I have been to the lake. I search my brain to see if I can remember but then I regret it because the last time I went to the lake was when I still had all my old friends and we had fun. I shake my head trying to get the memories away.

As Jace nears the exit, I get happy. I can't wait to reach the lake. I love swimming; it's so calming to me. We drive down this road and then turn to this little cabin. A big smile makes its way on my face when I see who is standing in the front door. As soon as the car stops, I hope out and run to her. I am running so fast that when I reach her, she loses her balance. We both fall down with me on top of her and we land with a big thud.

"Ow! Okay, get off bitch", Amber gasps under me and I chuckle at her while getting up and then helping her get up.

"Shut up, hooker, you know you love me", I laugh when she glares at me and I pinch her cheeks and she hits my hands away.

"I swear, the way you guys talk to each other is crazy but funny", Nick says and the boys laugh. Amber and I look at each other.

"Oh, honey we are just getting started", Amber states backing away slowly in the house. She looks at me and I see the glint in her eye that I know all too well.

I look around to the doorway and at the cabin. Knowing her, she has already set something up. My eye meet hers and her eyes flicker to the left briefly and then down. I follow her eye movement and my eyes go wide. I look down at the string then back at her and smirk.

"Why is she looking like that", Jace asks from behind me. I shrug my shoulders and step over the string trying to not make it noticeable.

I walk fast towards Amber and turn around just as all the boys walk in. Dom trips on the string first. He looks down, then up at us in shock. I hear a snap noise and next thing I know, all the boys are covered in flour. Amber and I are trying not to laugh but the boys look so confused to what just happened and I can't hold it in anymore. I bust out laughing and Amber soon follows.

"That", gasp, "was", gasp, "so", gasp, "fucking funny", Amber laughs out. Soon after she is on the floor laughing and I am leaning on the wall so I don't fall down. I nod my head in agreement because I can't speak from laughing so hard.
